Finding a method that will work on any/every tree is a goal for all of us I believe. I have tried every method I can think of to do the exact same thing you are doing. Hunting southeast Ohio public ground often requires going a good ways from the road or path to get away from pressure. I have found that the 2TC method is best for me due to the fact it is the lightest. Sticks, one stick, steps, aiders on ratchet straps all can climb the same trees, and all can struggle with some trees. I have come to the conclusion that there is no one perfect set up for me. But, this is as close as I have come so far. If I know I’m gonna be within 3/4 mile of the road I will pack my dump pouch with my repel setup, anything further than that and it’s just two ropes for me. Hope this helps ya
