Why don't yall 2TC?

I had a similar thought until I remembered the ropeman uses the carabiner to lock onto the rope. It might work temporarily but I’d be worried about the webbing getting caught in the teeth or something.
Yep, your mainline is supposed to get squorshed against a carabiner but the webbing works IF there is enough in the hole for the cam to bite into...

Kinda like having the the right hitch cord paired-up with the right rope.

This is just a DIY tinkering foot loop that I threw together out of stuff I wasn't using.
A footloop is easy to make, it's not rocket science!

Are you able to pull the bottom tether through split limbs in preset trees without it getting stuck?

I don't 2TC because I'm 250lb and outta shape. Who out there is in my boat? I know @Red Beard is like 100lb. What are the tips for big boys?

My main thing is the foot pressure. Definitely going to try something wider, the 1in tubular wedding is incredibly painful. The other part is being out of shape. Well, that's a separate problem. And my foot would hurt less if there wasn't so much weight on it. I guess it's all the same problem

add some rubber hose to increase the comfort factor. I'm 245-ish, and stiff boot soles help a lot also. I'd say the foot loop from CGM is going to be the end all for foot comfort though. Doing a 2TC every day is a pretty good full body workout

240lb here.

2.5in seat belt webbing works well as foot loop

Also make small transitions

6'3" and 315 lbs. CGM footloop is the ticket. Tried with rope and a 1 inch tubular webbing step with rubber hosing. Granted the time in the loop is short, it still hurt.

Practice!
After you get the hang of 2TC it's pretty fun.

Maybe go out and SIT in your saddle and visualize your next move before you actually make it?
Just stand up and get your top tether moved up without dilly-dallying around...

I think that would help, as well as a nice wide webbing stirrup?

The less time you spend on your footloop the better.

Yes, because it's just a bare rope with the wire stiffener on both ends. I use @John RB Maverick hitch for both tethers(rope ends), thereby negating the need for spliced eyes. Then the LA hitches (3 or 4) are left on if I know ill be 2TCing a new tree, and easily taken off/on for an SRT climb.

Yep, I'm only 185 and have cf plates in all my boots yet still hate the discomfort of anything less than the 4" cgm footloops

Any chance you could put up more detail on that WLR variant? It looks like you did 4 turns at the top and then started doing the cobra weaves without any turns at the bottom.

Right, not the two part wraps of the original, I found the two part wraps are only needed for the small 2mm Amsteel on amsteel use for reliable grabbing.
