Sept 14th cant come soon enough! For the morning hunt I have a couple different spots depending on the wind. Hoping to fill a doe tag. Evening hunt I have a specific tree in mind if the wind cooperates. Its a spot with a half dozen mature oaks. The oaks are on the edge of where 3 types of habitat come together. The tree I have in mind has a water hole 20 yards from it. Lots of tracks at the water hole last year so hoping they hit that while they munch on acorns. I'll probably get to that spot in my guido around 1 and sit till dark.

We have over a month to wait until October 5th, but no, my cousin decided to have her wedding opening day. And most every male in the family hunts. A lotta W-T-F over that one.

I'll get out after work the first Monday for sure. Not too worked up about it, really. Slightly annoyed. My season gets cranking for good the first strong cold front after Oct 15. Lots of scouting starting this weekend up until then.

For sure. Still trying to decide if I'm going to stick close to home or attempt a lone out of county hunt for a couple days.

Well depends. Opening day is Tues after Labor Day here in MA. but thats for bear. Dam right I'll be in a tree unless I find out tomorrow after I have this nuclear stress test that I need open heart surgery. Had a heart attack a couple months back and aint recovering so well.

Open September 7 here, being from Michigan I've never hunted before 10-1... And that's usually too hot and mosquito infested. I've not done any Kentucky scouting, so my early season plan will be scouting, bow in hand, pack with what I need to hang on back... See what happens.

Hope you get back at it to your best potential, brother! I also have heart conditions, best luck to you.

Specific area, YES. Weather/wind will dictate which tree I'm in in that area. I hit my "primary" spots over the first couple weeks of the season, then I'll switch over to scouting/still hunting until I find a spot I want to set-up in for the day. Later in the season I'll hit my "rut spots" and then my post rut spots. I don't like to hunt those spots more than a couple times a year so I save my sits for specific times/conditions, and will hunt/scout the rest of the time.
