Introducing the 2017 Aero Hunter Kestrel

Saddle only (including bridge) just under 3lbs, MSRP $245
Complete System (saddle, bridge, tree strap, linemans belt and back band) right around 3.5lbs MSRP $350.

So with the rope it is not 5 pounds unless you need a size 2 and then it might be

Many have a fixed bridge on the aero hunter. You can add a prussic or blakes hitch or ropeman or whatever. I have a fixed bridge on my aerohunter now but was considering a petzl ring with a ropeman 1 like Ernie Power had.
Okay, I gotcha. My Evo came with a prussic or blakes hitch in the bridge by default. I haven't used it the saddle that much yet, but I wasn't finding myself adjusting the bridge very often. I clipped into the bridge with a carabiner attached to a separate tether or to my climbing rope. The challenge with the climbing rope approach for me was that the extra gear starts to add up and can make noise. I have been using an ascender like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LMP9SC8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 along with a grigri2 to ascend. For the descent, I remove the ascender and repel down the rope using the grigri2.

I don't repel yet but I think if I do I might want an adjustable bridge I think. I need some training from my rock climbing adult children. I wonder how long that bridge strap is and how much adjustment is possible. I guess I have my bridge off my other saddles

80 was the cheapest rate to canada with upwards of 180 for expedited!!Not cheap at all, and not realistic. 20 would be a dream!
Maybe Tom and I should consider going to Port Huron. Duty may also be charged but not if we pick it up

I have ordered to send to my home address but could have it changed!

I think as far as TL, NT EVO, and the SITDRAG are all concerned all are comfortable but its solely up to the user. Each one requires some level of dialing in and that is then dependent on so many variables. I love my sitdrag and i can hunt 8+ hrs no problem. I am really looking forward to the kestrel as it is very similar but with a few more adjustments which should only make the comfortability curve even faster.

Ordered mine yesterday but put in wrong email so I don't have order number let.Talked to them yesterday and they said they got the order alright. They are very nice to talk to I bet customer service is excellent!

Pay homage to the TL ! After all, had it not been for that first one you'd be stumbling around with a climber on your back.
The treesuit was around back in the mid 90s that was my first saddle. My second was TL and my third was Guido's web. My fourth the Kestrel. They all work .

First time saddle buyer order # 338!!! Gonna use hawk heliums with the versa button rope mod! Any advice would be greatly appreciated as i have never even seen a saddle in person!!!

Familiarize yourself with everything at ground level. Get comfortable setting up that way before climbing. After that practice practice practice! It will take a while to develop your system and get used to hunting with one. It's a whole new awesome ballgame lol.

I am going into my third season saddle hunting. I hunt almost exclusively out of a saddle and love it.
As Flinginairos states practice at ground level, get used to it and you will be hooked.

Any idea when the Kestrel will be shipping? Hoping the have a bunch ready to go.

I actually emailed them today asking about that, because when you ordered the Kestrel the text said "in stock". They replied pretty quickly, and said -There is a glitch in their system they are trying to correct, everything shows as in stock regardless of what is ordered. The Kestrels will start to ship Sept. 1st.

Another question.......I ordered the 6 foot strap. Will that be sufficient? Why would I need the 12 footer?
