Team 3 2019

OK, I am about to go hunting now for opening day. It is October in Canada and its freaking 27 degrees!! Sorry, 80 degrees!!

I guess I'm going to hunt over water - I don't have hot weather tactics for Christs sake!!?
Lmao good luck buddy

And why would you? you practically live at the North Pole.

Well, bad news today..... made a solid entry into one of my top prospect spots today and at day break not 60 yards away I see this....

And more...

No bait allowed, and this is on a public wma, this was gonna be a good spot.... had to turn this one over to the dnr
There is always someone out there that ruins a good thing. You did the right thing alerting dnr. Hopefully you can still get to hunt that area later.

"Cold" front moving in tonight. Got deer flu, can't go to work, might be contagious!! Might as well go hunt...... the front moving in is setting up my #1 spot, I need a north wind to hunt it.... I'm real excited about this particular spot, I had my first encounter with a true mature bruiser buck here last year and couldn't get the job done... I made a bad shot, hit him high and he survived... I encountered twice more, once in archery I saw him @ 80 yards then again 5 minutes after I shot a not so equal 9 point on the last day of rifle.... so needless to say this hunt is the hunt I've been practicing for since last october! I hope to make a smooth entry, but I think I'm gonna get aggressive with it and sit 40yards closer to the bedding cover... I don't know where I'm going to sit in the am, but Ill hink of somewhere to occupy until I move in for the afternoon sit! Good luck fellas the weekend is coming!!

I am usually off on Fidays but I got the deer flu yesterday afternoon and had to go home early, by way of the closest public land till dark. I'm pretty sure that's the only way to treat deer flu.

I've got an actual head cold. Nothing that would keep me from missing this cold front. However, the misses car crapped the bed this week and we need to find a new one. Trying to remedy that tonight so I can get out tomorrow but I'm not counting on it now. Fingers crossed.

Ya I get the same flu all the time...

Virginia archery starts in the morning. Cold front moving in tonight as well. Going from 80-54 here. Not sure which spots I'll hit first but hopefully I'll have us some points. Got my PERCH platform in last week so I'm gonna be using WE steps for their first hunt, leaving the sticks at home.

OK boys weigh in on this for me.
I got this doe hanging in my garage right now. It was cool here last night and today. My garage stays cool all the time. Tomorrow it is going up to 68F tomorrow midday. Then down to 62F Monday. Can I let this hang till Monday night, or do I need to break this down and get it in the fridge?

I have a confession team.... I shot a doe from my saddle today but forgot the whole saddle photo thing because it was so hot and I was worried about getting her processed...
I guess I have to go shoot some more!

I would break it down and get it in a cooler or fridge, that’s too warm for my liking personally

OK thanks for the thoughts. I'll break it down and get it into the fridge tomorrow AM.

Dude, that's a serious doe you got there...them great white north whitetails got some serious size... great job, 5 more on the board!!

Regarding the temps and butchering...
If you have large cooler and want to age it or just dont have the time to complete the butchering, you can quarter her out wrap it in trash bags and cover it in ice in the cooler. You can keep it like this for a couple days!
Great job on the first kill of the year!!
