Tethrd Phantom

When I first received the phantom for testing I saw the lower molle loops and wondered what I could use them for. I remembered a sustainment pouch I had ordered that was too big and floppy for my previous saddle. I tried it on the phantom and it worked great. I didn’t carry a backpack early season. Just dropped two bottles of water and a thermacell in the pouch and was good to go.

I like the high medium and low notches. Already thinking about how I could make these on my current saddle, wouldn't take much, maybe two small pieces of rope wrapped around and tied to make three distinct sections....

I had an idea for something like the comfort channels a while back. More like daisy chain sewn into the bridge loops. I quickly discounted the idea because it would require adding two carabiners to my system. When I saw thes it was like duh how easy is that. One could replicate the comfort channels pretty easy. I haven’t tried it but a zip tie would probably be close if you knew where you wanted them to ride. When I order what is to be mine it will get zip tied into my favorite setting never to move again.

No comfort channels needed if you girth hitch a prusik on one side and then tie a girth hitched knot on the other bridge loop...

The girth hitches on the bridge loops tighten once loaded and hold the bridge where you want it. Have been using this adjustable bridge setup for a couple years now.

I guess none of the insiders can view this thread based on the hubbub in Dave's thread but if there are any, I'm curious how well those comfort channels stay in place? It appears to me the bridge would pop out of those channels rather easily and you'd experience the nanosecond of death that happens from time to time with the reinforced bridges. But maybe not?

It does look like they’d pop off easy to the next setting
Especially with Amsteel

When you see one in person it’ll seem so simple. Once you weight the saddle it stays in whatever setting you had it in. It’s not just a cloth bump. It’s rigid.

But a girth hitch doesn’t move easily right?

If you are sitting with all of your weight in the saddle, the girth hitches will not move on you. If you want to adjust, take some of your weight off of the saddle, adjust, sit.

Consider the Phantom Comfort Channels as "digital" adjustment while my adjustable bridge with girth hitched ends has "analog" adjustment, haha.

sounds like some controls/automation lingo

You would think they would pop out easy but I have not experienced that at all. If I'm in the saddle in a tree they just stay put, no bridge slipping out and into a different spot. Once at hunting height just check to make sure you are in the channel you want to be in and adjust if not and your good go as far as my experiences are concerned.

The shape is more like a sit drag. I have been tempted to buy a Mantis but thought it was not really designed to sit on. Anything which is easy to sit on can be leaned against. The converse is not true, IMHO. The Phantom should be much better. I am really tempted.

I saw where someone said it will be $250 and available in February. My question is what, if anything, will come with it for that price? Or is that price just for the phantom and nothing else?
