Novix tree stand!

It cost me $645.

It flexed more than anything I have ever stood on.

It is absolutely terrible trying to cam on thick bark trees and mediocre at best on everything else.

The seat is a piece of crap. It’s was all tore up on first use.

Offset bracket creaks and pops on most trees. Toe hooking doesnt help.

Thanks for the insight and sharing your experiences. So, knowing that you’ve owned the beast stand, the echo, and the 1.0, in what order would you rank those three stands?

hmm....that price point is very tempting if I was in the market for a stand. My son is not sold on saddle but he was happy sitting in my Lone Wolf Sand Cast stand. Would this be a vast improvement over it that I should consider saving up for it?

I haven’t owned an echo. I think you mean helo.

1.0
helo
beast

I would go as far to say if I had the helo and not the 1.0 I wouldn’t be able to justify the cost to “upgrade“ to the 1.0.

.5 I think is a worthy contender. It is a very solid stand with the features of the 1.0 but only 5.7 lbs bare.

It cam better and much solid on the tree than the sandcast. It is narrower but about the same length.

Very reasonable. I feel the same way myself. I hate it when reasons get in the way of my wanting of shiny objects. I'm very guilty of DIYing and tinkering away money $10 here $20 there, death by a thousand cuts basically, when I should of just gotten a production model and save myself time and effort.

Mine arrived today. I won’t be keeping this one.
UPDATE
I decided to keep the Helo. After getting it and the Beast out some more with some testing I found the Helo checks enough boxes for me to keep $425 in my pocket. The Beast is 2.5 lbs lighter on my scale. My measurements show the Beast to be roughly 2” longer. That is nice but there is enough flex in it that you won’t spend much time out there. The Helo seat is an inch shorter, ironically it fits me better being an inch shorter. The main thing I dislike about the Beast is the strap contacting the tree bracket. Not saying it’s necessarily an issue or problem because it may be a non-issue, it just bothers me personally.

Do you see anyway to make/mod the seat fold 180 degree back like the .5 and 1.0 to make it a shelf?

I wish Novix would find a way to make their seats fold so they are even with the bottom of the stand like a Loc-On. ITs not always the size, or weight that bothers me, its the profile height when carrying it. I hate the seat hanging down below my ar$e. That was my major grip with the chippewa ghost as well.

This was my loc-on style ghost conversion...

With cordage or webbing and buckles you could. I’ll rig something up and post some pics.

It was easy with just cordage on the LW stands that had tabs on the seat.

On this one, probably going to need connectors/buckles like Squirrels says.

Ok, so you guys that have one in hand....you think the "v" would be appropriate if you say...wanted to narrow LW Hand climberbars/supports and mount it on the helo as a climber base?

Lone wolf, not novix but yes you can flip the seat straight back.

Add a $2 army surplus lashing strap to secure sticks and 4 extra versa buttons on the sides of stand. I can secure any load with my 2 buckle straps from stand.
