Definitely need to give it a try....I've been out the last few days fighting some awful disease....but thats over now.Mine was 7/64 and it’s not ideal at all. Hard to manage and the steps want to pop up when tensioned. I’m going to play around with running it through tubular webbing. I also wonder how a standard 1” webbing strap sewn around the steel spacer would work out.
I used 1/8" amsteel, only the eye splice is buried. Now my steps have holes not slots....but I have an idea...What size amsteel are you guys using? Did you have to full bury or anything? Pardon my ignorance I don’t know much about amsteel
For me, if I need to step on a step for a shot, the tighter and hopefully immovable the step is, the more concentration can be put into staying still and taking the shot.i might be the only person who dont care if his steps are supper tight to the tree or move a little im compforitable with it.i just use a cam.is there an advantage im missing? if so id like to learn it.or is it just preffernce?
Working on it!This!!! Simple quick and easy my only question is how well would the amsteel work in slotted squirrel steps? Anybody tried it yet?
I'd say good enough for climbing steps but not tight enough for a ROS,...also that method has been shown to get looser with time and being stepped on.not slotted but cool

Lol, I wish I bought a fid, I use thin wire and go slow and struggle.what are you using as a fid? Specifically size wise.
Why unimpressed? I’ve messed with it, 3 step rig. Seem perfectly fine.I'm curious as well. I've only got the OCB from HangN30 but I'm unimpressed.
Good question, thanks for the post.

This is what I am talking about..and I added a gear tie to the slider so you don’t have to wrap your tag end around a bunch of times, just fasten it with the gear tie and start torquing. Really cams the stick on the tree well.
