Meh. To each their own I guess. I bought a phantom saddle kit before I was familiar with this community. I found out since that many people don’t care for their stuff for various (and not unfair) reasons. I’m very comfortable in my saddle, feel the lineman and tether and carabiners are safe, and even like the dump pouches and recliner band I found on the classifieds here. Picked up a predator platform from the classifieds here as well and love it, can toe hook in every time and be rock solid. Happy to carry and climb with their OneSticks, that was a big upgrade for me. I’d have no qualms about buying the CFX today if it met a need or felt like an upgrade for me.
I personally think we’ve reached a too cool for school point as a community sometimes with them. It’s nearly always bagging on them as a company, mock them and you know 3-4 people will support you and laugh too. I was so frustrated trying to figure out the weight and measurements I even jumped in last night.
If you search for a problem you’ll find one with anything from your shoes to your truck to your favorite band. When things break, be it a climbing stick or this website, it’s super easy to point out failure. The successes are seemingly less fun to talk about. It’s hard to innovate and things happen. I’m gonna end this rant with this thought from someone much brighter than me: I always turn to the sports pages first, which records people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures. Earl Warren said that while the papers have always held the motto if it bleeds it leads. I hope you all find deer and hunt safely regardless of what section you read first.
