anyone else see this? panther climbing platform

Quasi-related... any of ya'll super-efficient searchers or good rememberers recall the LWHC mod threads? If so, might you hook a brother up and post links?

I'm surprised Panther's lawyers aren't requiring them to strongly suggest a line attached from your saddle to the platform as you climb.

I used to have a BR climber and the 1-foot climbing method was squirrely at best. Lost the platform one time while climbing...it was NOT fun trying to fetch it back up to height.

Not exactly what I meant but thank you for looking out. I was hoping to find modifications, not failures.

Here’s the info on the @Bwhana arm angle rope mod. It‘s superior in that it doesn’t compromise structural integrity like the bolt mod, so I won’t send links to that.

And the @FayetteKong summit cable mod:

Someone put a bar between the tubes to reduce side pressure on the platform.

That’s probably a good mod, I’ve seen pics of the arms broken from the bolt mod, and even from use as a hand climber. They can definitely pull inward under load.

But there’s those who will tell you they’re not necessary and have never had a problem. Reminds me somewhat of how ONE stick threads range.

An alternative to the arm angle rope mod and detail on rope mod:

Has anyone got through to their website? Everything I try it goes to page 404 website not found

2nd new climbing platform I’ve seen lately. Both $400.

Price is rationalized by someone pimping the product with, “well you don’t have to buy sticks”.

For the fabricators and machinists, what about these items would have that much of a cost increase over what’s on the market today in terms of saddle platforms.

With this method, why not climb down the way you climbed up?!?!?!

The way I see this system as being beneficial, FOR ME, is this:

I'm going to practice using the platform of my Open Shot for this system. I'll weigh the difference between all the methods I currently utilize.
I'm betting I'll save weight and eliminate a step or two going up and coming down. When climbing with the complete Open Shot, I'm moving three things while climbing. My teather, the upper, and the platform.
By eliminating the upper, I'm only moving my teather and platform.
I'm also using the Third Hand Archery tie-down system. That adds time. Both seting up and packing up.

Simplifying the system while saving weight seems like something I'm willing to invest some practice toward.
