Beast stand - part2

I got to messing around with the ewo bracket on the beast stand. Works pretty well I think. The biggest improvement was since swapping the bracket the stand has not made a peep on the tree. No creaks or squeaks. So I think the beast bracket has to be the culprit. However, I don’t think the EWO bracket will handle as much of an offset. But yet good enough for me I think. Another issue with using the EWO bracket since it is thicker. It pushes your stack of beast sticks further down the seatpost when using the beast rod for packing. Which basically means an issue with the sick holes aligning with the threaded hole for the rod. It will still work but the stick needs to be up tight to the bracket and you cannot use the stealth strip on the rod. You will have to use something thin to silence like a wrap of hockey tape.

I like the LW batwing because it has bigger teeth, I always make sure two of those teeth are embedded in the round of the bark, if you're not locked in tight the stand can make a big shift.

The beast stands just came back in stock and they are shipping immediately. I’m just waiting for the smaller version to come out .

Thanks for the update. Surprised so many want a smaller version. I've had a lot of thoughts about this stand this year, but never once did I want it not even a thousands of an inch smaller.

I just want to say I have the lightest stand on the market. I have a .5…. That I will never use for that reason….lol

I think one of the problems with the current Beast stand is it's too light for what it is. I'm surprised they didn't make a few tweaks.

But, to your point, I never really considered the Beast stand since I already had the lightest stand on the market.

for a guy over 6’ tall the beast stand is all of what you need none of what you don’t. Lightest your going to get for the size. The bracket needs a redesign but it’s very light for its size.

Idk. I'm over 6'. I think I'd like the end beefed up and the gaping hole filled. For what little that would cost in weight, I think even slighter users would find it nicer.

I wonder if we will see that this year? I bet it will take the lightest treestand title and break that 5lb mark. If it’s ~16x25 take my money
I’d like to see that happen, too, but I doubt that’s realistic. Look at the last section of the platform (furthest from the tree). Cutting 2-3” off the end of the platform does not equal 1-2 pounds. Would be kind of hard to trim much off elsewhere, or areas to slim down, wouldn’t you say? If so, where’s it coming from - the seat, main post, platform length? The rungs on the platform, especially near the end, are pretty thin as it is.

Looks like genesis has a quiver holder and j hooks? coming for the beast stand. I also picked up the new seat. It’s a definite upgrade from the previous version.

Good to hear about the seat. I didn't know if it was an actual upgrade or it was the same old seat wrapped up nice

Yeah same here. It’s better though. I pulled several all day sits last year and that seat was awful every time. If you order it, buy a roll of thin Velcro from Amazon so you can roll the excess straps up, like Kifaru does with their packs.

The new seat is a huge improvement. A must have IMO if you use a beast stand. The old seat was noisy, crappy foam and crushed down after a short time of use. I was afraid this new one was going to just be the same foam wrapped in canvas. It’s not. It’s perfect softness and the cover is water proof. I do suggest some stealth strips around the perimeter of the seat frame as this seat does have potential to squeak. When I first got it I had some generic 3M slayer tape on it and it squeaked. Might be the rubber texture of that tape. Have not had a peep since ripping that stuff off and putting stealth strips in its place. However, the new seat does add 1/2lb to the weight of the stand. Well worth the weight penalty IMO.

With that said… I really wish this stand have an integrated bow holder. What’s everyone using?

I tucked my straps back through the triglide only about 1/4-1/2” excess

I used a morph last yea

I tried that but didn’t have the patience. I went with the morph bow hanger last year. I liked it for public stand hunting. Keeps the bow out from the tree so it’s easy to get to. Best used with an ocb strap. Not a fan of the hangers that keep the bow against the tree for stand hunting and didn’t like how the sidekick attached to a non lwcg stand.

Does the new seat cushion crush down like those from LWCG? They start off nice but end up like pancakes.

I know this is an old thread...
Has anyone experienced the popping/cracking noise from a LWCG stand on hardwood trees like those experienced with the Beast stand? I'm looking to make a switch but didn't want to end up with the same issue in a different expensive stand. I'm considering a .5 with a medium seat.
