I agree, your setup of ONE sticks and a saddle sounds incredibly transportable and efficient. I'm impressed you can manage standoff distances of 3.25" or less as a platform. No ROS? Do you have to stand duck footed to weight the shank of your boot(s)?
I'm envious of folks who have mastered minimalism. I could see myself maybe gun hunting off sticks with a JX3, but that's not exactly a minimalist setup, and I don't suspect I would bow hunt well that way.
I guess my abilities and preferences cause me to need some extra foot room for comfort and maneuverability, and these smaller, frankly uncomfortable, "stands" make the saddle relevant to me, particularly for all day hunts, despite the bulkier and heavier transport. Maybe if we could get some comfort built into them, their stock as actual stands would go up in my eyes.
