I'm looking for opinions on the lightest, easiest packable, most durable sticks out there. Let me hear some thoughts guys and gals. Thanks

EWO or Beast sticks would be my first choice. There’s a couple threads floating around about both right now, definitely check them out!

As you can see my EWO steps have bent already. I’ve had these for a month probably climbed 10 times. They are very light weight, they are loud tho and they don’t come with an attachment method. They bite incredibly well into the tree.

I have yet to get my hands on beast sticks but I’d give them a run my sticks cost $560 no attachment method

Beast sticks should be under $400 for 4 and they come with straps. They also have the bolt that goes through all of your sticks to hold them tight and silent while packing.

This is my first season using Timber Ninja C1 sticks. Hunted a lot last year with XOP sticks and I hated how big and heavy they were. I have about 8 huts so far with the C1 sticks and I am very impressed with them so far. I have four of them, and added the cable aiders to two which I use at the bottom two sticks.

you can't maximize all those things at the same time, it's a tradeoff and balancing act that only you can decide for yourself

having said that, i won't use sticks again until someone comes up with a well made 1 pound stick, the tethrd one sticks aren't there yet

Agree with this statement. Which of the qualities you mentioned do you value most? Not to mention price, tree grip, foot room, etc.

Figure out what is most important to you and then look for sticks that meet those criteria.

Everyone above who mentioned no stick is perfect is definitely right. Took me forever to try to find stick I wanted to order. Drove myself almost crazy. Settled on the Novix Minis doubles. Half the cost of most of the premium sticks. Tiny bit heavier than most of them, but not by much. I wouldn’t put a crazy amount of thought into it. You are on them maybe 5 to 10 minutes a hunt. Unless you like tinkering then by all means, go crazy haha

Like others have said, everything is a trade off. To me, you don't spend a lot of time standing and climbing on your sticks, but I do spend a lot of time with them on my back. That's why I prioritized weight. The standoff on my C1 sticks isn't my favorite part about them, but it's not enough to make me regret having them.

“ lightest, easiest packable, most durable sticks”

Such a thing does not exist. You can only have one of those attributes in any given stick. Pick one.

Lightest are catalyst carbon pros at 14.5oz packability is ok. Durability.. they are carbon so….

easiest packable - further definition required. Do you mean most packable? If that’s the case one of the LWCG sticks.

Most durable…. LWCG compacts with the 5/16” hardware most sticks use 1/4” hardware.

No such animal.

I chose novix minis for now, but price was a factor in my decision.

I wouldn’t say they are the “most” anything, but they get you up a tree at a decent price.

IMO all sticks get you up a tree in similar fashion. No feature on a stick is going to kill a deer for you, however I have realized after trying several there are things I prefer. Price and bulk are my top two. Moving parts (folding and unfolding steps) is second. Weight is last because I’m a man and a few ounces does not affect me.

As for durability, they are based on a proven design and there are no moving parts.

Think of this sport as a very detail specific sport and that nothing anyone else says works for them will work for you. Same with a bow. Same with sticks. Same with a saddle. Etc. you will need to try different things until you find the pack and platform and sticks that work for you.

What you can find here is a way to sift through a lot of products and narrow it down to a few that usually have very favorable opinions through testing and evaluation from other members of the forum. So if a lot of people are saying Beast sticks, EWO and Timber Ninja. You now can narrow your focus more rapidly than going it alone. But be ready to order brand X and not like them, resell them here and try again. Your body and physical ability are different than everyone else’s. So my size 14W boots will give a different opinion on sticks than someone with a 9W.

Beast sticks are what I have. Had Shikars and timber ninja carbon sticks before. All of them were well made American companies.

Cant be said any better.
You want to REALLY delve into the depth of misery searching for perfect CS?
Try finding a QUIET light weight easy to pack and install climbing stick when your 260lbs AND wear size 14.5-15 XXW boots.
I finally went back to my original MIUSA LW 3-step CS's.
Tried strap on steps, Original Jim Stepp steps, Summit climbing sticks
None worked as well let alone better than the OLWCS.

Now in fairness never gave any of the ultra high $$$ CS's a try but I couldn't bring myself to spend $400-$500 on four sticks.
I easily sold my other climbing sticks and steps for 90% of what I bought them for.

As stated you can pic one attribute and accept and learn to deal with the shortcomings.

Exactly, like others have said, figure out your order of importance, take into account what boots or other gear you’re wearing as well, I love my Alpha Burleys but they aren’t the most nimble thing out there, so I’ve opted to avoid aiders and stick with 3-4 full size Novix sticks. They’re rock solid for me, easy to put up, and most importantly I'm comfortable with them. They’re heavier than a lot of the other new more expensive stuff out there but between being in the military and the hiking I’ve done with my one year old bouncing around in my carrier pack…..it’s not that bad haha.
