Very true. I misspoke. Meant to say that there was no drastic change after I applied the Atsko UV Killer.

They make some but I don't think as much quantity. The good part to that though is I have picked up several Sitka pieces cheap at local stores on clearance because nobody bought the small.

Layering is the way to go. Get a thin, puffy high loft goose down vest and similar jacket and a windshirt (v neck windbreaker without a zipper).

Take your jacket off then put on the vest, then down jacket, then windshirt and then put your outer jacket back on.

I avoid heavily insulated and windproof outer jackets because if you walk in and climb in them then you sweat bad.

I carry all my midlayers in a compression sack inside my pack and put them on at height. I also usually stick 2 to 5 Hot Hands adhesive body warmers on my inner most layer.

My rule of thumb is walk in with 1 less layer than I think I need and then sit with 1 more layer than I think I need.

Second my dude on the thin puffy1000002215.jpg hate to say it but the hippie hikers are right.teamed with a prima loft pnuma vest even wormer without the arms getting in the way of your string .thin light rain coat as a wind breaker for the low bulk top layers.this kilik is only 120 bucks .good insulator for fairly thin arms.great for a true layering system.the bottom is angled down at the back to keep coverage of your crack when you bend down.all tops should be made this way including base layers just like all pants shoud angle up in the back.....this should be the standard not the exception.no pants should ever creep down in the back especialy off a narrow ars like mine.a little bit of puffy poly shine on this peice but red will let me know if it glows.and if you dont know cotton kills you are not an outdoorsman....i mean this is common knowledge to the soft handed teenage female through hikers...just ask miranda from rei gosh darn

I have been really impressed with my Sitka gear. I didn't go full in all at once, purchased one piece at a time. But have not been disappointed by any piece yet. The Stratus jacket has been my favorite so far.
 
Pretty sure that red and i should be desighning athletic hunting cloths that realy work.emphasis on athletic fitting,any bubba hunter can get by sitting down all day in wallmart gear.every one knows sitka is as good as it gets its a hard to kill blacktail deer.but there are way less exspencive brands that last just as long or longer. ive seen 500 dollar sitka fail to cracked out gortex,talk about disapointing.still beter than most but for the price of a 2 peice set you can build an entire layering system.they all could be improved

I have one of their windproof hoodies that I got off someone on this site. Really nice but definitely run small. I wouldn’t mind getting one a few sizes bigger to wear over merino base layer and maybe a down jacket or vest for when it gets colder and windy. Just not sure if one size up would work and probably if I go up two sizes I’m guessing the arms would be way too long. Feel constricted when I wear it as a mid layer. I’m 5’7”-5’8” and usually 150-160 lbs and it’s a medium for reference

The concept of ordering a precise fit for my hunting clothes is lost on me.

My body is typically a size medium unless I'm 15-20lbs overweight.
( It happens. Don't judge. I usually drop that weight when I face the fact that the gut is there )

But at no time do I ever buy anything medium for any kind of hunting. I always jump right to large sizes because it's so much more comfortable and also leaves room for layering if I want.

I have the Jacket, Windproof Vest, and the Hoodie in this NatGear product in large.
The wader pant I ordered in medium and that is a perfect fit. NO NEED to layer under that! I actually bought the wader pants for lounging around in the winter months and sleeping while camped in cooler temps. This thing is almost perfect from the factory with three pockets, a quality bungie waist, and sturrups.
I had a seamstress add a zippered fly w/o disturbing the waistband.
NOW it's perfect!

I hunted temps in the 30's this year while wearing some sort of non-cotton tee shirt and the Jacket.
Sorry. I walked out in the morning when it was low 30's and unbuttoned the jacket after a few hundred yards to keep cool. I had the vest packed and waiting to use it when I needed it.
As the day wore on the temps rose to the lower to mid-40's and I never did put on the vest.

Sorry I rambled there. Just can't say enough about this product. ( I'm not affiliated with them in any way )
 
The Sitka Jetstream Jacket is on sale for $210.
Anyone have any experience with it?

@Dmathews87 if you haven’t already tried a Medium top on, you might want to. I wear a Med in 99% of shirts and jackets, and wear a Large in Sitka tops.
 
got my first lite stuff in which im pretty impressed with so far...fits really well and just seems like really good quality,but im even more impressed with that scent lok saddle hunter jacket...that thing is sweet! super soft, quiet, and toasty....its going to be a great mid layer and probaly all i need down here with my kiln quarter zip.

and fyi scent lok has alot of stuff on sale right now,
