Double steps for DIY sticks are here!

Version 2 of the Original DoubleStep. Modified the tread pattern to match the new SquirrelSteps coming out. Backorders from this week will ship Friday with this new design.
  • Angled DoubleSteps - should be available sometime next week with a 7 degree up angle. Both will be available to order.
  • SquirrelSteps available sometime next week in 3/4" and 1" versions (aluminum Ameristep / Golden Buck).
  • Climbing stick standoffs (v-brackets) - getting real close to having these ready. Open to names - StickClaws? or ??
  • 9" platform posts - 1 1/4" tubes are available to order (if you need and don't want to pay shipping prices that others charge)
  • Ring of Steps Strap (ROSS) - ordered and as soon as I get them they'll be available on the site too.
More to come. Hope to bring some to show off at SaddlePalooza along with some swag. DoubleSteps is one of the sponsers - working on a very cool donation.
 
Hunted with the LW sticks with Dano double step this morning. Used the stainless 1/4-20 2" bolts. Everything worked great. Really like a double step when using a movable aider. Would recommend to any one using LW sticks.
 
DanO, thanks for building these!! Would've loved some Beast sticks, but I just cut the old LW's and added your steps!

Lookit at all them double steps

I’m barely 10’ off the ground in this tree, but that level was too dang comfortable to go any further, lol. Doe I killed didn’t seem to notice....

2 sticks was going to be a stretch so I squeezed 3 in there to get to the limbs. Great product.
 
I want to build my own set of sticks. I can start with steps here, but where do I get the metal tubing?

Onlinemetals.com - just make sure and get 6061 and not 6063. 6063 is the version most often sold in home improvement stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Menards).

Check out DIY Sportsman on YouTube, he has the dimensions and everything else in a good video. With DanO building the double steps and stand offs, should be a simple build. Good luck!

Just posted the new Angled DoubleSteps for sale! Main page of the website shows a comparison of the straight vs. angled steps. Material cost is more since these are 2" high to accommodate the angle so they are $1 more.
 
Cool. Just received 4 of the regular steps yesterday. Anyone want to buy 4 regular steps at a discount?

They are a whopping .1oz heavier at 3.6oz.
First run of standoffs and SquirrelSteps are supposed be run this week if all goes well.

I don't know...0.1 ounces heavier? Doesn't sound light weight run and gun to me. Might as well carry a climber around!

Damn man you have been busy!!! Very cool. Still loving my vintage double steps ( vi rage makes them worth more lol) couldn’t use my aider system now without them!
