FAS PACK……reviews and thread for ideas

Anyone have any updates on how they’re running their FAS?

Since everyone’s season is in full swing now, what’s your thoughts on the FAS pack after using it? Pro’s and cons?

I'm not an expensive pack guy. But my cousin bought the fas pack and didn't like it. Sold it to me for half of what he paid.
I've been shocked how much I like it. It is useless however without a platform pack of some sort to use as a compression piece.
I was worried about not having a waist belt, but there wasn't a singular time I used it this year I felt it was necessary. Then again, I don't pack out meat either. It's a winner to me

I really like mine too. it took a lot of playing with to get it right. I added a waist belt, took it off. played with where I attach my stick. I agree that having the predator pack as a compression is key.

I'm very happy with mine for archery - going to need to play with it again for rifle.

Only cons I have are 1) I like the holes for the retractable gear hoist - however it's too problematic when hanging my bag. and 2) I'm a little jealous of how they have the backpack straps now vs how mine is.

I broke my second compression g-hook last night. The straps are junk and for the price of the pack, Tethrd should provide quality straps.

interesting. I've cranked on mine pretty good and haven't had an issue. I'll keep an eye out.

It’s a winner at what you got it for, what about at $380-$408 after tax, shipping, etc?

Not attacking, just asking.

I don't care what a pack brings to the table from any company, I'm never ever paying that much

I agree, I was just curious if your positivity was enough to warrant a full price purchase, that’s all.

I also had one that I picked up used and even at what I paid I didn’t think it was worth the cost, despite the fact that I liked the pack quite a bit. I thought it was pretty well layed out and of high quality material. The lack of a waist belt is what did it in for me.

Not that I'm happy about it but we have to remember that even though it sounds like a lot of money, $400 isn't that much money anymore.

In the grand scheme of things no, but for a non-frame pack with no meat hauling capability it’s a pretty significant chunk of change.

That being said if any buyer is happy with their purchase and ok with the price they paid, I guess it was priced accordingly.

They stay attached thru tension. Pick any molle you like then cinch it down
I guess my issue is I want to use the loops on the sides. which doesn't work with a triglide unless I girth hitched it or something.
