FAS PACK……reviews and thread for ideas

You feel it was worth the price tag? I know it is all a matter of opinion, but still.

Granted I haven’t used it yet, it may be a little over priced….BUT, being that is all American made, no doubt that’s where the extra expense comes in. The bag is lightweight, tough as nails and laid out perfectly for my use. It’s probably worth the price tag to me.

Looks to me like the best way to attach sticks is to the front of the predator pack, instead of using the loops on the side of the main pack. I do have my seeker mini inside the predator pack. It seems you can secure them tighter this way compared to using the main pack loops. You could add one more strap to the bottom to secure the sticks more at the bottom. They wouldn’t move at all then.

I have some molle talons coming in I’m going to attach to front of predator to try and minimize amount of straps everywhere. I do like the idea of using the molle on the predator pack but my skeletors kept sliding down

I’m interested in seeing some pics when you get them in. They may work better than the straps.

I think I’ll attach the straps closer together on the predator pack. That’ll make it wrap tighter around the sticks. Maybe cutdown on any slippage…

I just moved the straps next each other on the predator pack, instead of being spread out, and it hold way better that way. I’ll probably cut the strap tails off so there’s not a foot hanging down:..

How is the predator pack attached. Vertical pals only, or is there horizontal straps to stabilize the load?

You can either attach it straight to the the molle of the backpack as a tight fit, or use the compression strap to attach it to the top, and be able to pack a coat between the predator pack and the backpack.

I believe sticks will ride better on the bottom of the pack. Keeps weight close to your body as well. Especially the Tethrd One sticks

Definitely depends on length of sticks, I try to keep everything inline of my torso

So I tried out the molle talons, not exactly what I was looking for. Sticks are still pulling away and then pulling the predator pack away from FAS pack. I can post more pics this weekend only had a few minutes messing with it. They definitely stopped any slippage of the sticks though. But with the pulling the pack away the sticks we’re leaning away from my body and hitting my butt

The compression kit buckles are slipping?

No the straps aren’t they are solid, but I think due to sticks being longer than the pack and where I can attach them the tops of the sticks lean backward

i may move the top molle talon onto the FAS pack to see if that makes a difference

Okay… so… sounds like the issue I was having with the bandit. Only way for me to use it was to throw it on my back like normal then tighten the shoulder straps up. Then had to loosen the shoulder straps to take the pack off.

I was doing same thing - what sticks are you running?

yeah as of now my only gripe with this is figuring out best way to pack sticks, other than that I think they knocked it out of park tbh

I have an assortment of sticks. Been using the tethrd sticks though

Got mine and have run it 2X… you have to run it high and tight which I like… I wear my saddle in… I run them on top of the predator pack and use 1 long compression strap from tabs on FAS pack and short one from bottom of predator pack… keeps very tight but packs best when pack is cinched high and tight…that’s just me… good luck!

I think Tethrd did a solid job on the pack. I love the design and layout. It seems to be well made. The only thing I wish they did different was a couple/few hundred extra cubic inches on the main compartment. That's more for those of us in the great white north who may need to stuff an extra layer or two. I know they mentioned that in one of the videos, but a few hundred extra cubic inches would make a big difference for a lot of people. Otherwise, I really like the pack.
