This. The Ambushes from the first batch have a much shorter leveling bar/rod/stop/metal thingy.
WOW! That is so much cleaner that is soooo much better looking and cleaner than the original one I bought from the first production run...

I gotta say. I am very happy I decided to give LWCG another try. The ambush is very nice. Also, I got my grimy hands on a set of compact sticks and cable aiders. This combo is superb. I hate aiders. Tried all kinds and none agreed with me. However, these cable aiders on these sticks is absolutely perfect. They hold shape. Stick out a bit from the stick no worries coming down. It’s right where it needs to be and effortless to find with your foot. Very happy with this setup...

That setup is sweet, that is exactly what I'm running and man does it all pack up nice and compact. Only difference is I'm running 6' amsteel daisy chains on my sticks.

Ok, It's been a year. For those that got thru the post recall and spent a season on it. What say you? I picked up a couple of these. I'm waiting to try them out.

The platform definitely gets tight to the tree. The angled teeth on the lower platform definitely help with the camming, but its still a bit different (not as simple) as camming the predator or the mission. Carrying it in/out of the woods with the backpack straps is great. Still have not found an ideal pack (that isn't too big for what I need) for this or the TL mission.

Once they improved the q/c issues I picked up another one. It’s my only platform now & I think it’s a good trade off for size/weight. It’s not quite as solid as the mission but I actually prefer that little bit of flex now after really using both.
I think they hit it really close on year one. Hopefully a they can improve on it.

I have had one pretty much every since they came out. I have owned quite a few platforms and imo there isn't a platform that compares to it. The size/weight is perfect for me. I don't understand the "it's harder to cam". I think the biggest thing with camming it is that it cams differently due to how well it bites the tree..
