Latitude SS vs Tethrd One?

Anybody own(ed) both the Tethrd One Sticks and Latitude SS Carbons care to comment on how they compare? I'm less interested in price and more interested in packability, standoff, setting/bite, and overall robustness on the tree.

I can't help but notice a lot of latitudes for sale in classifieds lately

I think the only people that have tried both and prefer the latitude just hate tethrd.

Haven’t tried the Tethrd sticks but I like the Latitude sticks so far. I have no concerns about their strength. Granted I’m only like a buck seventy. Although I learned not to order through Latitude. Just order from Scheels or some other vendor. Waited two weeks and they hadn’t shipped. Got my Scheels order in three days.

I don't know how he feels now but @Savedbygrace2001 doesn't strike me as a Tethrd hater.

I believe he had the Tethrd sticks and bought the Latitude sticks and wrote of them:

I love the way my Skeletors bite into the tree and the rope attachment method that comes stock. The Skeletors are just so flipping heavy. I'm primarily concerned about how well the standoffs of the Carbon SS sticks bite into the tree.

Do you find they "bite" into the tree well? Also, is it easy to get the sticks tight with their attachment method?

I really like my latitudes, light easy to tie off. They bite the tree almost as good as beast. They are pretty solid. I haven't had them kick out at all. On really hard smooth bark just gotta watch you don't pop them up with your linesman or foot. But my beast do that too on amsteel. I would recommend getting these https://genesis3dprinting.com/products/stacker-system-for-latitude-ss-sticks for stacking. It really makes them quiet. I didn't install the shock cord they come with just use the rubber strap that came with them.

One other nice thing about them the rope tabs hold the amsteel secure enough you can loop one cord under sticks and lock it off and use the rope as a sling to carry them over shoulder, if your not using a pack.

Still liking mine after several sits. I am surprised how well they bite actually. Just looking at the standoffs, it doesn't look like they would, but I haven't had any issues. They even do the take the rope off and they are still stuck to the tree thing. Love the rope containment and attachment. I broke my original strap, and now use a Voile strap.

I have ran both and sold my SS sticks because I like the way the ONE sticks stacked with the pins especially for climbing.
They both are noisy and will need silenced, the carbon SS sticks seem to have more foot room, but flex a little more then my ONE sticks.
The SS do tie off easier and have good amsteel rope with them, but in the end I just prefer the ONE sticks because I have been running them for years and I like the way they stack.
So that’s my reason for going back to the ONE sticks.

I have that take the rope off and they are still stuck to the tree thing with my OneSticks too. Happened on 3 of 4 tonight when I climbed down.

I think it’s become standard with metal standoffs. Beast, Shikars, EWO, Timber Ninjas, etc. I didn’t project CF standoffs biting like that, but here we are. Everyone’s doing it.

Do I think it’s imperative to a climbing stick, not really. Doesn’t really move the needle for me at all.

Totally agree. My Hawk Helium did it a couple
times last year and I was mind blown. Not consistently mind you but for their weight it was unexpected to me. To your point it probably isn’t a “needle mover” these days.
