Good morning and good luck. In a funnel between some water and a ridge. Top of the ridge has a walking trail that should keep deer down in the bottom. Plus there’s this little peninsula behind me I can just envision a buck pushing a doe into to breed.

Arrow in what looked like a solid 8. Walked right under me and sniffed my water bottle. Luckily that helped because he redirected around me for a much better shot. Shot looked great but didn’t see him fall. I’ll hang for a few hours and see if I can shoot a doe too.

Straight killer. Good job!

Unfortunately not. He just walked by at 50. Looks like I got his front shoulder instead of the offside shoulder. Stood above me for over half an hour then walked off like he was perfectly fine. Only shot now is finding him bedded but as he currently is he’s not gonna die. I’ll get down soon and see if I can find a broken arrow and start a track. Tank of a deer

I hit parking about 20 min before daylight, once I could see somewhat inserted walking in to a new section of woods. Moving at first light I know but I've never been here before and wanted to scout my way in/around to an area I found on the map.

I have a West wind today, so hugged the shoreline to the east until I got about halfway to my destination, then started easing my way into the woods towards a saddle. Just about when I started to feel "this seems deery" I bumped a doe, and then about 75 yards later "soft bumped" either the same doe or another and a basket rack buck. I say soft bp because they browsed away from me but didn't have teils up or spook. Anyhow, I'm set up in the saddle to sit for a while and see if anything else happens. I can see for a ways here so I may sit all day and just watch since I haven't been here before, we'll see.

Oh crap as I was typng they came back through. Took a shot at about 30 yards but I think I missed clean by rushing it. but lighted nock didn't go off, I'm going to give it a bit and try to get down and check to see if I can find the arrow. He didn't seem like he got shot but I didn't see the arrow dang it. Whew nerves I'm shaking. Hope it was a clean miss and he comes back. Man I'm definitely still a newbie

Found the arrow, no nock, impact was about 5' over his back. Now thinking the nock failed when I released which caused the miss, or at least that's the excuse I'll use. My sight was on him before/after so not sure how I'd miss 7' high otherwise? Disappointed, but better than finding a fatty arrow IMHO. I'm back in the tree, is this spot busted? They never saw me, just reacted to shot noise and my meh
