Trust your instincts. Sounds like a good plan. They should get up and moving again soon.
Thanks. Currently in the paranoid about thermals swirling and spending too much time with phone in hand overthinking in the middle of my hunt. Will now put phone away and do my best to chill, and not post 300 more times.

It's the rut. Anything can happen. Plus I think you have tried almost every where else haven't you?
It definitely feels like I've tried everywhere. Just had 10 male turkeys shuffle through, so hopefully that's a good sign. I at least got blew at last time I seen turkeys in this area :tearsofjoy:

Well I lasted a while. Currently hiding behind the tree because there's a doe and fawn 35 yards in front of me. She spotted me but isn't sure what I am. I was planning on letting them walk since there's a fawn... But if the doe blows I may change my mind.

Edit: can you spot them both? About 55 yards and they are walking off now. Ok phone back in pocket Justin. Screenshot_20221112-155143.png

Attempting my first true all day sit. I’ve hunted all day a lot but never in one spot. Usually I’d leave to run and get food.

Saw some does this morning. 8 hours in, 4 to go!
No way I could do this without the saddle.

Git'em boys...

Taking a night off. Roast in the crock pot and and the boy that gutted BOTH our bucks yesterday is going to a spot I gave him.
Should be in the groundhunter thread cause he's going in with a stool and a tripod. Need to talk to our forum creator to just go mobilehunter,com.....

Western Kansas. This spot was on fire this time last year. We had a light snow yesterday and I saw a ton of tracks on my walk in. Had an encounter with the pictured buck in this spot last year but I didn’t have a buck tag. It’s 20° with a NW wind and I’m downwind of some doe bedding.

Well I ended up being in the right spot. He walked right under my stand at 2:00 pm and gave me a 15 yard quartering away shot. My first Kansas buck, first buck on public land and first deer out of my saddle.

That's friggin awesome! Congrats! So happy for you. Very respectable buck :) You hooked?

Got out Sunday, my target buck had been consistently coming at sunset every other day.... I dropped my daughter off at a friends house and by 12 I was at my spot...then I got some pics from my camera at that exact spot....he had come by at 11! I had a doe watch me climb the tree JRB style... then when I got to the top and went to put my bow on the tree and pull my platform up....I had no arrows! Down again and back up... only thing I saw after that were Frisbee golfers on the golf course that spoiled the vikings game result for me, lol. I was gonna watch the replay later....20221113_141357.jpg20221113_141327.jpg20221113_123024.jpg
