I of course offered my assistance, but I also informed her of my plight with this nanny doe. Cams are indicating the deer are here all hours of the day and she said “I hate hunting season, but go. You’ve got nothing to lose then we’ll go get pizza”. Did I mention she’s amazing? Besides, she doesn’t hate hunting season when the freezer is full lol. I just saw the big booty of a big body deer at 50 yds. Spot feels hot. I want to introduce myself to that doe in a lethal manner.

My wife was super excited for me to go. Like rushing me to log out of work and head out. I did order pizza for them before I left. She’s probably just excited for that. I’m sure that’s it. No reason for alarm.
 
Pile of deer tonight but the only one in range was that button buck from this morning again. Does spooked to my dogs barking at other deer I’m sure, but I could have made a marginal shot at 30, decided it wasn’t worth it especially only two weeks into season. Great hunt though. Thanks Mrs. DelaWhere.
 
Not a deer but atleast he wont be tearing up my property anymore.

It’s been a real show getting here but I’m in. Planned to hike a mile and skirt a swamp to get into a tract otherwise inaccessible. Decided to only carry a 2tc setup to save weight. The swamp pushed up onto private land due to the rain so I had to back out part way there and find a tree. The climb was awful (first hunt with 2tc) and I got soaked in sweat. Left my pack on the ground with no retriever. Forgot my knee pads in the truck. Managed to bend an sbiner and use my bow pull up rope to snag the pack, but now I’m freezing from the sweat and lack of proper clothing preparedness. I’m optimistic though as it’s a funnel in a bottoms with lots of oaks and thicket and I killed one here last year.

Not the greatest picture, and I can't post the video. But I got to watch a couple of small bucks do that about 200 yards away from me. There was a doe standing there shortly before they showed up. They weren't going at it too hard and would often stop and walk around with each other for a bit before locking up again. Went on for about 30 minutes before something finally spooked them and they ran away.
