Lonewolf Custom's Ambush

I'm trying to find a somewhat universal solution for all weather and situations. There might be a little compromise in each measure(weight, packability, etc) but I know what I like finally. I'm trying to build that grab and go no thought setup.
That's a tough task. I'm thinking towards some sort of modularity but still struggling with how to make the pack portion work. What I really need is some magical shrinking cold weather gear.

yeah, it definitely is. But feasible If I can let myself be ok with some of the compromises.

The ones that have ordered one think they will be great, I think we will be surprised at just how good they will realy be. At least I hope so.

I love the saddle for run and gun, but after three all day hunts in frigid weather, I think I'm probably going to grab my treestand this Friday. When I am cold I spend most of my time just standing, I think it is the best way to stay warm. I think the Ambush hits that cold weather sweet spot for me so I can finally sell all my treestands.

Saddle, sling, treestand, who cares. Buncha identity hunters here, I'm just trying to have the right tools at my disposal to slay bucks.

I agree, standing definitely gets the blood flowing and that’s one of the things I’m looking forward to with this platform. I’m a fan of the lone wolf quality as well as long as this holds true to their other products build quality etc...

This is exactly where my thought process is coming from as well. I have a big chippewa loc on that I may never sell just cause its easy and I can hang it for my father, and hopefully my sons in the future, but the ambush really might fill my "portable loc-on" need and slim down the breadth of my gear.

So it sounds like people are buying this to hunt like Brad Kuhnert. Should be a good fit for that. I can envision it packing up really nice on a nice pack frame, with a compression panel to load/tame cold weather gear, climbing method, etc. I've got ideas and theories on how this could work...and curious how well it ends up comparing to something like the JX3 (which I haven't tried either, but feels like it may have a similar packability but stronger comfort.)

Matt, you close enough to bama to schedule a play date? I have a jx3, and I'm about to have a ambush I reckon. $800 worth of toys to play with, plus all the other junk I have.

I'm a big dude, so standing up and turning around on the predator for a weak side shot is very difficult. I can do it with the RR but it's so hard to pack it (with my current gear). Looking forward to trying this one out.

I need one of these..

my work(school) has the firewall blocked, and I can't go to the site to order one and there isn't any cell service..lol. sucks..

That’s 79 order numbers through this thread for whatever it’s worth. I would assume they don’t separate order numbers to specific items though so that could include sticks or treestands.
