New Gear for 2023, Go!

What’s the difference between a platform and a treestand? A set of cables and a seat?

I think this is going to have a hard time being either.

It’s too short to be a functional tree stand, as they are traditionally used. And it may not be wide enough to work very well as a saddle platform due to cable interference.

Maybe being a few inches shorter than the .5 gives those cables a similar geometry to the .5, idk. It’s narrower and that’s probably going to cause more of a pinch.

They should have made a wider platform and just a knee rest and committed it to saddle hunting use, IMO.

LWCG .5: 23" x 16.5" platform. Looks to be an inch longer and 1.5” narrower.

The .5 is 16.5 x 23.

So this is 1 inch longer and 1.5 narrower. Interested to see what the seat height is on it. I like the length, about perfect in my opinion, but being 1.5" narrower, I would think you definitely will get some cable interference with your boots.

That’s going to be even worse than I thought (was thinking .5 was 26in, probably what my M7 is).

They need a cable spreader. It’s too narrow.

I hope it works great for some folks. With it’s narrowness, it doesn’t seem optimized for a broad audience. Maybe it performs better than I anticipate, who knows.

Who is gonna walk or climb a tree with the stand hanging off them like that?

Looks super narrow up against the tree.
