Idk much about metal and what not but how is a treestand 4.8lbs and a mission platform is about the same weight? I guess it makes platforms seem heavy for what they are. Platform is bigger and then a post and a seat. Even if the seats small.

Well I guess you can skeletonize a treestand a lot more because you have the cables to support it.

I gotcha! Just seems like a comparison of the amount of metal is still uneven. I’d be curious to take a platform the size of a mission, add a post and a small seat. I think your feet would hang over the edge. Thanks!

I like the offset bracket also. Flat, wide lots of points to grip.
If the bracket is flat, then why does it need so many teeth?
IMO if a bracket with 2 teeth can grip a 4" tree then it'll still grip a 24" trunk as well. More teeth on flat bracket seems like it'll still grip on just 2 teeth....wdyt?

In a perfect world you are right but more teeth works better on trees in the real world because it allows for adjustment on where the top bracket contacts the tree. It works as a bit of extra leveling.

I think this is going to have a hard time being either.

It’s too short to be a functional tree stand, as they are traditionally used. And it may not be wide enough to work very well as a saddle platform due to cable interference.

Maybe being a few inches shorter than the .5 gives those cables a similar geometry to the .5, idk. It’s narrower and that’s probably going to cause more of a pinch.

They should have made a wider platform and just a knee rest and committed it to saddle hunting use, IMO.
Would have been better with dual post like a windwalker to spread the cables whether using it as a stand or a platform. If they would make that change I would be all over that setup.

From the XOP site for the X2 stick. I've never seen or maybe just never noticed a safe climbing height spec before...

awesome...i'd advise to be conservative at first...a 45 lbs modern bow is equivalent to a 60 lbs bow from the 1990s....plenty of power for deer at least
Thanks y’all! Just came back from the doctor and he says I’m way ahead of schedule! I start on strengthening tomorrow. I feel great, just impatient and somewhat fatigued. It seems like every day when I start my PT, I have to stretch it out from the start. Here is a look at my new hardware in case you haven’t seen it.
