New Gear for 2023, Go!

It can be compressed with side buckles and from the bottom with added webbing. I'm not decided on how I'm going to connect it yet. There's a few options and I'll have to play with them to figure which I prefer.

I'm also not sure how I'm going to fun the top attachment. Chances are the autolocks are coming off though.

So I ended up returning this. And now I regret it, so I reordered. I also got some other goodies to spice it up a bit. After messing with the K4 5000 and determining what I need I really think the bird bag will be the ticket moving forward.

Price is bag only. oof.

That pack system is a PITA. Outdoorsman and I think Oregon Pack already tried that clunky exterior frame.

I don’t know much about the company. Just came across it as new gear.

I do see Wilderness Specialities offers multiple frames/suspensions. A couple of the frames appear to be ones tried by the US Army and Marine Corps (MOLLE II and FILBE). Looks like the packs simply attach to the frames via webbing.

Not sure if the reaper bag would fit inside a folded JX3. I could see that opening up different ways for managing sticks and gear than the typical JX3 setups we see.

Saw a video where catman had what seemed to be a carbon Tethrd platform. Ik people have been asking a lot about it so maybe it’s good news for you.

Since I worked on the bracket I haven't had a single issue

I hate to even admit this but I had 6 beast stands trying to love it. About 2/6 actually didn’t make any noise. Even without messing with the bracket. Chamfering the bracket didn’t fix it. Might of helped on the ones that made noise. I had issues with trying to hang them on the crappy trees around here. I came to the conclusion if I can only get 2 teeth of the bracket on the tree I needed a second cam strap. If I can only get one tooth to bite the tree I needed to find another tree. It just would not set. Once weighted it will try to align with the tree and kick sideways. Never had that issue with my lone wolf assaults/alpha or the custom gear stands. I am thinking he should suck that post in board a little to give it a harder cam, put some actual teeth in the platform V instead of the way it is now where it slides up and down the tree as the stand flexes(which I believe a lot of the noise issues originate) and separate the versa button and offset bracket more. I just think the geometry is a bit off. It has potential to be one of the best stands on the market but I think the short falls put it at the bottom of the list of stands I would recommend.

We definitely have a much different take on this one.
If you remember I made this post years ago when I was very upset with it. https://saddlehunter.com/community/index.php?threads/season-destroyed-by-the-beast-stand.43029/

Today I love it. The stock bracket absolutely sucks. It bites too hard and doesn't want to set. Once I chamfered the hell out it it sets great.
No stand on the market has better dimensions. I absolutely can not stand my feet hanging off the platform. I thought the .75 looked interesting, but it's 2 inches shorter than the beast so I didn't bite the bullet. The .5, while high quality was the single worst hunting product I ever bought. Straight up torture device to me. Way too small

Couple things I learned was this stand does not like to be cam locked. You will get popping noises if you do. I toe hook it up maybe an 1or 2 and that's it.

I never had an issue with setting it in wild trees. This is a mild example of a tree I have available in the back yard and it's locked solid. Theres tons of trees I only had 1 tooth engaged with and felt like I was cemented to the tree.

From what Ive seen, the lowest common denominator is this stand is not built for guys built like Sasquatchs. I believe you've mentioned youre built pretty big. Michigan great outdoors had the same issues.

Sounds like Dan needs a beefed up stand for guys like you.

I've never come close to bending mine. I've stood right on the edges and bounced like a diving board and it's still straight as an arrow

He seems to have the xl
I suspect they're having issues with it. They definitely would have dropped it if they could have right at the end of September when they said it was gunna release. In definitely holding off for this year. Let others beta test it

im sure its going to have that plastic feel to it anyway. im not a fan of that style or feel.

Try adding footrests to the .75 or .5 stands. “Adds” a couple of usable inches to the length of the platform where you can rest your feet. Make a difference.

I ended up putting a bat wing bracket on mine. The beast bracket would pop no matter what I did.
