New Gear Release 2022!

I am patiently (sort of) waiting on the new sticks from latitude and cruzr. I don’t think I buy the first batch of anything but if I can shave close to four pounds off my set up, I’ll be interested. We may have to change the thread to 2023 new gear but that seems to be status quo for the saddle game.
I’m with ya but I’ll take the chance on the Cruzr sticks for sure. I love my Cruzr xc and would like to support their business more.

I bought material and prototyped a telescoping stick. The weight penalty for the length saved in packing, and additional hardware to secure, made it all not make sense for a set of sticks. It’s easy enough to make. It just didn’t make sense to my pea brain once I had it in front of me.

If you’re talking about just one stick, I suppose shrinking envelope dimensions could make sense.

Did you try a short step-step design (like something that extends to 20") or was it a 3 step stick like they are prototyping?

Two step. Three step would make more sense for the height/weight ratio. Problem is hardware. If it’s all external you can get more compact on closed mode. If you have bolts, and you have overlap for telescoping tube, you only take a 20” stick down to 15” or so.

I've seen some anecdotal evidence of wobbles in tethrd gen2 one sticks on Facebook, unclear why. It appears that customer service etc is top notch and people are getting replacements straight away but the existence of any wobble on gen 2 is a bit concerning.

Again, anecdotal Facebook evidence, so take it for what it is, just wanted to relay what I heard.

I'm shocked I tell you shocked

I have one stick with a little wobble in both the top and the bottom step. They are sending me a replacement no questions asked. However, I lack confidence they won’t all get a wobble over time.
