Ratchet straps are not the devil

There's an idea Fawnzy. Lol. I`ll see if I can find the video link. Really it just takes a little practice and I can do it in total darkness or almost. Its kinda hard to explain but the video does a good job o f explaining what to do. I`,ll post something if anyone is really interested

Yep super easy and quiet

I have been using the silent (but deadly) method with a ratchet strap for the few times I use steps.

Update 10-10-2019: I have to recant on the Erickson. After using it maybe 50 times practicing and hunting with two different straps, I'm finding that the spring that is used to keep and release the lever dies. Too bad, because the rest of the strap is great, and I find that if you "pump" the lever a few times before locking down the mechanism has little gain. The spring is a piece of junk, it is wire that CLEARLY fatigues and is NOT made of spring-intended steel. Super bummer.

Now we just need to figure out how to measure the force between joints of the strap...and we have our first SaddleHunter.Com "Feats of Strength" contest. Airing of grievances will take place afterwards.

Happy Festivus!
Put a hanging scale on an immovable object and hang the strap on, put an ocb/ratchet buckle in between with strap and attach other end of strap to another immovable object. Whoa this was an old thread, ha!
