Scentlok or Sitka or First Lite?

I ended up selling my Stratus jacket last year and bought the complete Revanent suit on clearance for what I sold the Stratus jacket for. The only complaint I had with the Stratus line is there is a little bit of noise from the fabric. Probably not enough for most compound guys to care about but, when trying to draw a stick bow 6 yards from a deer on a crisp morning they will hear it.

The Revenant suit is completely silent and a bit warmer than the Stratus suit. I was happy with it the two late season sits I got to use it.
My buddie had the revenant suite sitting in his closet and I forgot a jacket one cold morning so he let me throw it on. I ordered my own in the tree about 6 hours later when it was almost zero out lol

This? @GCTerpfan

I won't ever use scent Lok because I don't believe that nonsense.
First lite is a great competitor to Sitka now that their Solitude and Sanctuary sets are windproof. They have one of my best pieces of whitetail clothes no one ever talks about. The Uncompahgre Puffy Pant. They weigh nothing, pack down to nothing, and are extremely warm and wind resistant. I haven't used my Stratus bibs in a couple seasons because of these pants. They're gold for the mobile hunter.
I've always felt their sizing was the best as well.
Kuiu has always had the worst fit for me. Their medium clothes fit my torso perfectly, but the arms or legs were designed for midgets in that size.
Sitka imo is still the king of whitetail. The Stratus is the most versatile set ever made. And the Fanatic is the holy grail of freezing weather sets.

I own several Scentlok garments and am happy with the fit and finish on the regardless if the Carbon works or not. I just ordered some FL merino so we will see how they hold up.

I'm torn about spending money on hunting clothes. I've been using my old army uniform since day one of hunting and I might be prisoner to 'ignorance is bliss'. Don't get me wrong, I wasted money all over the place getting webbing and ropes, but I just can't swallow paying so much for clothing.
Did you serve? Check out Leoadventures and you'll be eligible for 40% off Sitka gear once you have an account. Sometimes they run an additional sale to make it 50%

To the OP: if the only reason you want Scentlok is because of controlling scent, don't get it. IMO first lite base layers, sitka outer layers. Enjoy

First lite base layers are decent…. But I do prefer the minus 33 for merino and the Thlete H1 for heavyweight late season baselayers. Nothing beats them. With that said Sitka has come a long way with baselayers. Their synthetic base layers are very nice and they fixed the fit issues they had. I think their merino still needs some refining though.

Fanatic is not the holy grail of freezing weather sets. In just Sitka, the Incinerator is much warmer and as a bonus compress much better.

I have Stratus, Fanatic, Incinerator pieces.

The Fanatic is only slightly warmer than the Scentlok Revenant (have that too), which isn't Scentlok's extreme weather set.

I almost bought the Uncompahgre set on sale awhile back, but talked myself out of them because 1. Not having a brushed fleece outer made me think they'd be noisy and 2. As a mid layer there are lots of similar options for heat/weight. So you are wearing them as an outer layer and find them quiet enough for that use then?

Eh… I don’t think the incinerator is much warmer if at all than the fanatic. I was thinking about selling my incinerator actually.

I do like Minus 33, especially for the savings vs First Lite. Didn't even think of them since OP hadn't mentioned them. I don't think their stuff fits me as well though. Good to know Sitkas baselayers have improved but my baselayers are always merino

I had the incinerator for 1 season before I sold it. You couldn't catch me wearing the top during archery it's so loud. The bibs I thought about buying again as the Fanatic bibs are bulky for my style of hunting. The Fanatic top also has the diagonal zipper and muff, so for me the Fanatic is the ultimate top. Incinerator top I see more for rifle hunting.
The pants are the outer layer. They are a swishy material that you cannot bust brush with whatsoever. I won't even wear them climbing the tree as rubbing against the bark will chew them up. They are swishy sounding when rubbed together, but I cannot think of a single instance wear the noise in pants was an issue for me. My legs don't move when I draw on a deer. They've been game changers for me

That's not been my experience. Is yours one of the one's with the new Aerolite insulation? Maybe that's the difference. idk.

I actually found the Sanctuary very insulated but you end up like the Michelin man, and the reinforced seat was terribly noisy.

I'd just like to point out that the revenant is $200 cheaper normally, and is another $100 off right now, than the fanatic jacket... Easy choice for this guy, especially since I can buy scentlok at the LSG. Just sayin'

I follow that about the Sitka. Totally agree with it.

Thanks for the feedback on the Uncompahgre.

How does the Sitka and Scentlok hold out to thorns and branches in thick area? I'm having chest pain right now thinking of punching holes in $150+ pants.
This should make you feel better:

I got snagged on a dead downed tree and put a hole in my stratus bibs. 100% my fault. They repaired it for free even paid the shipping. Sitka has stellar customer service. I think scentlok also has exceptional customer service also with my limited interaction.

It's going to vary by piece but I haven't put a hole in any of my outer layer stuff. Base layers are another story

I purchased FL Catalyst at the end of last season. Still has the tags on it and will be worn this year!
My previous suit was a Scent blocker Dream Season suit I had for over 12 years. It was a great suit, but last year it was about 40 outside and light rain. I sat in my tree stand (wasn't saddle hunting yet) and I think it may have been the coldest I've ever been in my life! the suit was soaked, and I vouched I wouldn't be that cold or wet again while hunting.

season is approaching so we shall see about the FL suit!

Ok, if I'm going to drive in. What would be the best initial investment in Sitka? I'm thinking of a Fanatic Hoody that would be used every hunt even in cold weather I'll just add layers from the tons of camo clothes I inherited. But I am having a hard time justifying to wife that I need a $200 pant.
The fanatic hoody is my most worn piece of clothing in my system… can be worn alone or layered… only times I don’t wear is early bow season….
