Sewing Machine Deals for the DIY Guys

A dremel tool will make a longer needle into a shorter needle if all other dimensions are the same.
Good write up, seems fairly straightforward. The machine is supposed to be in good condition, but you never know with FB marketplace.

Now that I know what I'm looking for (ish), there's several for sale not too far from me.

Can't seem to find a model number for this one. Serial number searches haven't turned up anything yet.
I have a Morse and it has controls similar to that. The Morse was made in Japan and I would be willing to bet this Janome is as well. It is my best machine that has zigzag. Sews through webbing like a champ. I paid $60 for this Morse and I would do it again.

I dug around, based on the appearance and serial, it looks like a Janome 672. Looks like it may have some plastic gears in it. A deal breaker for me, but certainly not for all.

A plastic gear would turn me off as well.

I'm not interested in anything with plastic gears. Thanks for the model number, that turned up a lot of info.

Listed one of my own in the Classifieds if anyone in the MD area is interested.

Singer 211G155 & Union Special 39500 (serger, best guess on the model based on appearance)
$350
Lenoir, NC

Nakajima 280L (Juki DNU-241)
$650
Ocklawaha, FLI

Very capable machine at a reasonable price, especially considering the location.

Kenmore 158
$25
Greeneville, TN

This is one of the more capable domestic machines that I've used. Great deal.
