TAC Events- Recommend or Not???

Oh wait seven springs is a haul but still might be able to make it work if you need a team depending on day/time you wanna shoot.

I’ve got a group of 3 shooting Leupold Friday morning at 1130 ( btw that was BS about an extra $10) to shoot earlier that that) was also disappointed I couldn’t shoot more than 1 course in a day… I guess I could if I registered new & paid again. This is at 7 Springs

Last year after a certain time you could walk onto another course. I think that’s why the earlier start times are a premium.

I haven't heard anything more from TAC at all since I signed up for the PA Seven Springs Course in June. Have any of you. Plus I got a mailer from Kifaru that said they'd be at Seven Springs this year at the end of May!!! My info says the event goes from June 1-4th?

I’ve only received the original confirmation email the day of sign ups and that’s probably all there will be. Bring your confirmation info with you when you register the day of the shoot at SS and you’ll get your lift pass, wrist band, T-shirt etc then. It’s in VT for Memorial Day weekend so it’s usually the following weekend in Seven Springs in the past. A few people from the local archery shop are going to both. Pretty sure Kifaru was in VT last year so very possible they’ll be in SS too. Keep practicing…

Started working on getting a bow sighted in for the TAC. Never shot past 65 yards so that’ll be interesting. I was shooting a 50 lb mathews wake and a 60 lb pse full throttle with cams off a dna sp. Worked out to 60 yards on both. Need to tighten up the 60 yard groups before finalizing a tape.
Its still too early to say but at this second the full throttle is in the lead by a small amount.

I need to start doing this but too focused on turkeys right now. What arrow weight are you going with?I plan on going light for better trajectory. I want to just shoot the course and dial in my long range form. Not really germane to my bowhunting pursuits currently which is just eastern whitetail, gobblers in the spring and a ranging black bear in the fall but eventually I plan on doing some more longer distance western hunting. I’m thinking with my 27.5” DL 60-65 lbs DW of 375 grains TAW for this event.

I just put in an order for arrows went stiffer on spine so I can crank up to 80lbs and let it fly. I’m pulling 73 pounds now and max out around 80 yards before the sight housing is to close for comfort to the arrow new arrows are .4 gpi heavier but I’m thinking at 80 pounds it’ll fly them 100 guess there’s only one way to find out

Nearly the same. 380 grains. Last year I shot the leupold course with 490 grain arrows and no peep with a 315 IBO bow
It worked fine but I’m taking a different approach this year since I have time to devote to it specifically.

I've shot the Big Sky Montana event for the last five years, and shooting it again this year. It's a really fun time, the things I can recommend, are good comfortable hiking boots, even though my kid has done multiple courses wearing crocs, and some or most of the courses will have shots out over 100 yards. You can move up if you need to, my son and I both have five pin sliders that we use and we are able to get out to 115 yards. I use my hunting set up including my hunting arrows which are 435 grains. Another fun shoot that mimics TAC, but is more family fun, is the Mountain archery fest. I do know they have two shoots this year that are in the eastern part of the country. They have camping onsite at all of their shoots, and while I love TAC, MAF is starting to win me over on which one is better.
