Team 2 BB - Bambi Blasters

I was out tonight. No picture though. Seen some Jake's, heard a deer blow as I was packing up. According to wind it shouldn't have been me but it was nice to know there was deer. Off next week!

Ooh yeah I'm taking tomorrow off and getting in the woods. Got to drop off the kids and do some errands in the AM but I'm hoping to be out as soon as possible, I have a spot close to where I shot my last deer that I want to sit til dark given how many deer came from that way and blew at me while I was field dressing.

well I've hunted 6 days in a roll....only seen like 5 deer from the saddle. Largest being a spike. LOL Big boy never showed up again. I swear he's part ghost. Anyways back to work for me tonight for a few nights then I got another week off starting 10th. Making my annual trip to NC to hunt with my Buddy. We need a cold snap here in KY something awful.....been in the 70's just about everyday I was off.

Yeah. 70 again here tomorrow, and a gusty south wind. Not my favorite wind. But rut is coming in, so there is always a chance. Gonna be down wind of a little pinch point and know bedding area tommorow.. hopefully the wind isn't to bad.

Finally getting out again this weekend. October turned into a 2 hunt, 1 deer month due to family stuff (planned and unplanned).
November is not usually a great time for me to see and have chances at deer, but we'll see. Can't kill em if you ain't with em. Supposed to be warm up here in VT, which for me is good. Will feel more like my missing October hunts. Save all the cold gear hauling for later. Good luck out there!

Am I not doing it right? Look at this valuable intel!! :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:
You know just where they're walking! Lol.

I'm headed out to run my errands and get to the woods asap. Still debating shooting any legal deer like I planned for the season vs waiting for a buck now that I've got some meat in the freezer. A good problem to have that I haven't experienced before, but I'll still probably shoot the first doe that walks by if one does.

I'm up in a tree watching the woods, walked around a bit earlier but the areas I went to scout were a bust, just open woods with nothing interesting until I got to the property line so I don't think I'll head back that way again, so I went back to the bedding area that I was at last time and planning to sit for a while and see what's going on. I fully expect to see nothing but birds and squirrels for the next few hours but let's call it an observation sit, I didn't have it in my legs today to do the usual hike and scout and if I don't see deer as a result that's ok, I'm in the woods enjoying myself. Hope to update you all with a shot, perhaps I can upgrade my spike buck, perhaps I can shoot another doe, I'm ok with anything!

Well @Horn did your hunt end with a solo walk back to the truck like mine did? I only like 2% regret letting that doe (almost) fawn walk, though glad I did, I don't need the meat that badly and I learned more by watching her walk through the area I was in. Violating my "every legal deer" season rule ever so slightly whoops. Didn't see anything else but had greater than usual human and canine activity around me today so between that, and what everyone's saying about high temps and moon phase, Im happy seeing more than expected with the one. I may have seen another skylined near the edge of private (pretty far off) but it may have been a dog, didn't get a good look, so let's call it one and a half.

Yes sir. I'm going to keep faith in that spot through the weekend, maybe Monday. I've got good deer pics in there but.... sadly there's not much reason or sign for them to be there, this time of year anyway. There are trails.... maybe because I know where to look or want to see them 50/50 which is true or they both could be me dreaming. It's a difficult spot, but gotta dream big right!? I need north or maybe better the extremely elusive east wind, and chest waders lol. A gun would probably help too but I'm not willing to shoot one there, plus I'm really digging archery.

Did see a turkey end up incredibly high. I thought maybe it was an owl or a hawk or some other big bird. Then it moved again, or another one flew up and I seen a beard. I bet it was 60+ feet up. I don't know w t f to think about that. If not for the beard I wouldn't know what it was. Still can't believe it to be honest

You know I want to kind of amend my thinking. I'm down on that spot, for sure. I've been saying late Oct, early Nov and here we are. It's got somewhat steep hills immediately north, and water , river, immediately south. I need cold for that spot, and wind that doesn't come up often. But still or calm wind does... So. Things are looking up because it darn sure isn't cold.

Thanks for listening to my rants

Had something heavy footed pass by at about 40 yards, 5 minutes before shooting light this morning. Couldn't see rack or no rack. Nothing since. Breezy today and my tree choice was off the mark a bit. Happy to be back out though.

Good luck! Hope another comes by!

Well in a tree. Trying some pee tonight. Didn't check shooting lanes so that might be tricky lol

Wind is suppose to finally shift around. Hunted my parents house with my daughter in the blind this morning. Saw a few does 100yrds out.
So been prepping for the AM.
Ran a few shots thru the bow and figured out how I missed the turkey. I am a little high at 15yrds.
Plan to shoot anything that isn't spotted in the morning.

Nothing tonight. Headed out in the morning too, also not planning on being choosy. At least I have smoked pulled pork to eat when get home
