Team 2 BB - Bambi Blasters

Well we bumped one but that's it. Going to go scout/ hunt a new location near a well known one.

I think I know what's up with the 10 point spot from last year..

Long day of not much action. I did run into a guy I know on the river though. What are the chances I'm a mile deep and come up in a little clearing and he's in that bend canoeing right at that time? Lol

Oh, deer related I found great trails into/out of thick thick stuff. Morning or evening spot? Pretty easy access

So encounter with a nice 8 pointer. It was a blast..I moved trees after I blew that up.
Shoot at a doe. I went 25 yardage on my crossbow instead of the 35. Went right under her. She barley ran. So I reloaded. Sent another one at 40. Not 100% sure where that bolt ended up. I found a vane. But arrow and broadhead probably buried into the muck. Got the one back at least.
Been an expensive season so far. Bow limbs, arrows, broadhead, plus normal stuff I got.

Set up on what I thought was bedding on the south edge of a swamp/ marsh which is south of the 10 point spot. Hang and hope isn't for me so I got down about 9 and barged on into the swamp. I'm not always good at listening to advice... sensitive area - keep out! Ha! Turns out it's just trails, one that led my pretty much right to the other spot! I thought both were bedding, and I was totally wrong.

Just a half mile back outta here now lol, good thing I picked the knee high rubber boots today

great job getting down and getting after it to go see what's going on. i still struggle with that some times, but am trying to talk about scouting until seeing deer as much as posible, half to remind myself to keep trying it, half to share with people what's worked for me once i started listening to people on here that are better deer killers than i am. wasted way too much time hanging and hoping like that last year, when one hour of walking gets you so much more info and doesn't waste any more time in that no-deer-zone tree!

i like your attitude, and am confident that it'll come together for you. i seem to always have an expensive season because i like buying crap.at least you've got excuses!

This is literally for the contest. It counts right? I'm like 10 inches up. I set up shop by a really scuffed up rub with a few smaller ones in the area. Another guy came in so I waved. He proceeds to set up a ground blind. so a hauled bum in a big loop and set up again farther in the direction he was in hoping to cut them off.

I said forget it and came out early. Dude has a handicap parking thing in his windshield. You're going to drag that deer out 3/4 of a mile and you can't walk to the store??

Mostly scouted today. Found a few creek crossings with rubs nearby. One had multiple fresh rubs, and looked like old ones too. I'll be there in the morning. Bumped what sounded big crashing out a little deeper in. No rubs or scrapes but definitely a crossing. Unless team experience says the bump at the crossing is a better move I'm trying multi rub spot.

I'm getting tired. I've covered a lot of ground since last Friday. Rutcation is more work than my job lol. But way better even when I'm feeling pretty down :)

Fingers crossed. I made too much noise after I picked a tree. Dropped my pack. Lucky I had the essentials out. Platform settled a little and tinged. Bright side there's those rubs And crossing. Hopefully they weren't too close lol.

Hang in there. Maybe he will push one in later. He has one thing on his mind.
The other day when I was watching those two. I tried to throw something to the ground to make some noise. I had a anchor bolt nut I had from work in my pack to put on a pre set line to keep it from tangling and bouncing all over. I went to pull it out and throw it down behind me, and I dropped it after I got it out of my pack. It clanked off the platform and hit the ground. He looked over for a few, then bedded back down.

I had to go in to check on a sick kid, back out now. I'm sure sure there's a deer within 2500 yards or so but I'm out here. I guess maybe I should tether in instead of sitting on this blow down

I'm not seeing anything while I'm in the stand. When I'm home my cameras are sending me deer in daylight. frustrating.

One week from tomorrow I'm heading to VA for rifle, hopefully my luck will change.

Smallest trees ever?? I'm going to say I'm officially stumped guys. I bet I'm about 15 miles into this thing this week and I'm no closer to getting on deer than I was. I slacked yesterday and only put 5 or 6 hours in but I've been out there. I guess I don't know where they're feeding or bedding.

That sounds frustrating! Hopefully your luck improves!

Probably just got myself in trouble on here. If I get another deer from a saddle I'll post it up.

Good luck y'all!

Sorry for poking ya earlier. Those types of conversations seem to always get people worked up, whether it's online or at the Thanksgiving table, but I look forward to respectfully disagreeing with you in the future and I hope ya don't jump the shark and get yourself booted, well at least not before getting us about 20 points on the board ok?

Switching back to saddle hunting, I'm planning on driving to a parking area a few miles northwest of where I've been hunting and exploring the woods up there that I haven't visited much yet. Not sure what to expect, but looking forward to it. Calling for rain all day Friday so hoping for less crunch to the leaves and easier sneaking about. No idea if there's cell service out there, only one way to find out I suppose.
