Congratulations!! I think that puts us within 1 of the lead again but I didn't check the recent submissions

Well. Dropped him at the processor. Back in a tree. I left my set for the morning hunt there. See if I can get that other guy with the gun. Unless I see a good one tonight. I more so wanted to give my drt set up a try.
First try I lost the rope. Second time out kicked my butt. Thought I would give it a go with all my clothes on in the cold weather. I added the ascender. Way more efficient. I think I made less noise than any of my other methods.
 
i just got back from playing with the hickory creek mini at the range, don't have it fully sighted in but it sure is fun. posted this pic in the HC koolaid thread as well but at the risk of being redundant (and ignore that errant shot lol) look what is just hanging out 70 yards behind the targets.

Well no luck on the extra quick hang and hope. I didn't have high hopes to be honest. Got down with 25 minutes to go, tromped out on the peninsula and made the loop. It would seem I had it backwards and the western side sees more traffic. Had some rubs out there, didn't see any scrapes. Not as thick as thought. Pretty sure I seen 2 beds, which I thought this was a buck spot after the sighting 11/6 of last year. Bed was near the point ( same as 11/6/21). The other one was within eye sight of my usual setup, on the east side. Hopefully I'm at least learning
 
I'm not really into firearms that much but I do always think CVA has a good looking gun. Considered buying one but ended up with a ruger American.

I may just stay the archery course, not sure. The way the last week went a gun wouldn't help anyway :tearsofjoy:

I would rather kill em with a bow as well. You wont find me on on public opening day of gun season. At least around here. Maybe northern Michigan.
 
I should have 175 gr field points at home, maybe I'll take the Xbox out with high foc for gun season.

Weekend plans? Getting snow here. Supposed to be highs right around freezing all weekend. I was hoping to go hunt private with a friend but that might not happen until next weekend. I'll be out with my fingers crossed when I can!
 
To cold for me on Sunday. Might get back out Wednesday. But will probably be with the kids. Depends on the wind. May not be in a tree.

I must confess I don't watch the weather, or generally care. It has been brought to my attention that you are far smarter than me! It's going to be COLD with windchill! I'm not smart, I'm going to give it a try

If I didn't have one down I would be getting out there. But my attention has shifted to not waking up at 4am, and freezing all day to, sleep in, and get one of my kids to shoot one in the afternoon.
 
Just got back from hunting in NC with my buddy Matt. We had some good hunts and saw several deer. No big bucks though. I think a 5 pt was the biggest we saw. But we both scored on a doe each on the same day with our longbows.

Now back at it tomorrow with my Dad. I always look forward to hunting with him.
