Thanks all but it wasn't the best shot and the smaller of the two. They came up just before sunset, spotted me but didn't spook, then played peek-a-boo among the trees for about 10 minutes. I thought I had kept track of the bigger one but apparently not. She was at my 12:30 and had to swing around the tree and think between pushing off my platform and getting tired from holding the position for a long while, I put the slug through a rear quarter. Thankfully, I somehow missed the guts and tenderloins and hit the aorta but hit the femur and got lead splinters through most of a quarter.
Thankfully, she dropped right there so I didn't have to track her. My buddy shot a big bodied 5 point this morning and we both saw several other bucks to include my 6 point that's happily passing on his genes to the next generation.
For next year, I may add an ROS with my platform to give me extra footing while moving around the tree. I also need to get into the woods and clean up some shooting lanes. In most every location, there are only small windows with alot of twigs within those windows.
