TEAM 3 - BARK BUSTERS

I was able to get one down last night.
Unfortunately it was not out of my saddle
Had a buddy who has a greenhouse call and needed help with reduction on his mum patch.
So I just grabbed the bow and took off set up on the edge in jeans and a hoody .
Got a good shot and only ran 35 yards.

Nice work. Do you know how much she field dressed?

Sorry for all the non-hunting posts but we don’t get started around here until Saturday so I’ve been doing scouting. I had one cell camera close to the ground that was getting a lot of leaf pictures so I asked the wife if she wanted to go out with me and grab that camera since I want to put it somewhere else.

It was about 30 mins before sunset, nice and cool evening. Great time for a quick bike ride. We saw a doe and 2 fawns in the exact spot on the road in that I saw them on Friday at sunset. Then we saw a little spike/3 pt in the field near where I’ve been getting pictures of him. Then going past the field where my camera was we saw 6 does and fawns in the field. I quickly grabbed the camera and backed out the opposite side. On the way out we saw another two 4 pts crossing the road into a piece where I killed my first deer a few years back.

I never see deer around here in the fields, especially cut ones, so it was a fun afternoon and I added several deer waypoints to my map.

I know the doe and small buck talk isn’t very interesting but I’ve dialed my expectations back a little bit for this season with the stick bow and am hoping to get two of either. Trying to be good for at least 10.

If they just cut the soy bean last week do you think they are out in the field eating the droppings? I don’t know of any other reason they would be out there?

Good luck Saturday. Any points count!

I plan to be out Friday and Saturday. Before then I am bogged down with hanging a new gutter on my house and watching my son.

Discounts for any team 3 folks…….
