Team 5!

Reminds me of a great quote from Bull Durham:

“Well, Nuke’s scared because his eyelids are jammed and his old man’s here. We need a live roo– is it a live rooster? We need a live rooster to take the curse off Jose’s glove. And nobody seems to know what to get Millie or Jimmy for their wedding present. Is that about right? … We’re dealing with a lot of sh–.” –Crash Davis
First off, Great movie reference. Then . . .

Live rooster . . .hmmm . . .my neighbors got chickens . . . I can see the conversation now. " Chicken . . .no I haven't seen a chicken. Did I tell you I saw a fox the other night?" :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

Sorry guys, I feel like I haven't been checking in much but to be honest I've had very little to report. I hit it hard again last weekend despite the nasty weather and again I was shut out on deer sightings from the tree. The truck did have some dandruff on it on Friday morning.

This weekend I focused on the area of best buck sign I've been seeing. There's a good buck around, I'm finding a number of rubs waist high on 5-6" diameter trees, but I'm afraid he's mostly nocturnal a this point. He did make a couple of new scrapes Friday night between the time I left a tree and the time got into another about 50yds away on Sat. morning. I'm hoping as we get closer to rut he'll slip up some. The weathers not looking any more promising this coming weekend but I intend to hit it hard again for my 3 day weekend. I'm closing in on my longer vacation break where I take the first couple of weeks of November off. Good luck guys!

I too have been hitting it hard but just haven’t seen anything worth shooting.
Saw this dude the other night...yes he busted me but I wasn’t going to shoot him anyways.
This morning I saw a small 8 pointer that was maybe a 2 year old so he got a pass and as I was rappelling down I turned and saw a spike walk through. Hopefully I’m in the right spot come two weeks from now.

I’m down trying to go after Sika deer. Saw a nice stag on the way out. Also cut a real nice set of whitetail buck tracks. They’re are both & I can shoot 4 hinds, 2 stags & 1 whitetail buck & doe, none of which count towards my annual limit. But this is wild hunting looks like I’m hunting the moon, just sand dunes & swamps

Thanks for the update, I have seen a couple does each time out. No shot opportunities yet. I did draw back one at 25 yards but wasn't able to get her to stop in my shooting lane.

I have yet to see a buck from the stand, hopefully this weekend I will get test these arrows that I have so much time into.

You're doing better than me. I have 22 sits in and have seen a grand total of 3 deer, all does/fawns, all at the same time (third sit of the season) This is starting as one the slowest seasons on record for me. I have high hopes that things are going to turn around for me here soon . . .they have too right :).
