Team 5!

That’s what I’m talking about fellas. See what happens when you don’t have quality football to watch!!!

Guys it's definitely heating up. I had what I think would have been a new personal best 10 pt within 15 yds Saturday night. I needed him to cover 15 more feet to get a clear shot when the doe he was following caught a whiff of me. So close but not meant to be. Got the heart pumping pretty good though. Keep it up guys, great job so far!

Had a beautiful buck pass by just out of range today... let’s hope tomorrow is a different story!
I had a smaller 8 walk by about 40yds out today too. Not sure I would have taken him regardless but being just out of range made the decision easier.

Made the road trip home after this evenings hunt for a shower and to show the wife I'm still kicking (also getting short on groceries). That is the first time the truck has moved since last Thursday night. Plan on leaving early in the morning to catch the morning hunt.

There's some definitely some does coming into heat. I've seen 2 bucks paired up so far but no shots yet. Warm weather and bright moon definitely aren't helping. Add to that there's a huge increase in public land hunting activity here this year. There's a guy and his buddy with fixed stands set up in one of my prime areas. They're actually parking in my campsite. Its no just deer hunters but grouse hunters as well. Holy cow, doesn't anyone have to work anymore? :). I did find a big fresh scrape noon scouting today in an area I haven't been in for a couple of weeks. Backed right out and I'm headed there for this evening's sit. Goog luck!

Spent almost 9 hours in two different spots today without even so much as thinking I heard a deer. Walk the almost mile back to camp tonight and I'm sitting on the truck tailgate in the dark talking to the wife on speakerphone. As I'm taking my crap off all of sudden there's a buck chasing a doe inside 50 yards of camp. At one point I thought they were going to run down the road.
