This is gonna be a big week for movement, and this weekend I believe we will start seeing some big ones fall. The second week of November has traditionally been when I see some of the biggest moving in my area. Most guys have already taken their "rutcation" by the 2nd and 3rd weeks but the chasing and breeding is for from by then. Keep at it fellas let's get some tags filled! Then on to the firearms seasons!!! I think Wisconsin and Minnesota have "early" rifle seasons that are like mid November so hopefully we get some tags punched in their neck of the woods!!

2 does all morning. Got down and decided to check out the corner of the woods I’ve wanted to try all season. Love the saddle, found 1 tree to climb and boom spotted these 10 yards from me.!

I'll be paddling into the creek right around low tide so that's good for hunting I think. This afternoon would have be preferred...right as the storm moved out....but not able to swing that 1....it's still pretty gusty and hasn't totally calmed down yet so I'm hoping in the morning they might still be doing the after storm movement. I had that archery quota the day after hurricane Ian moved out and the first couple hours of the day they were up and moving....I think that is happening this afternoon but only 1 way to find out

Looks like winter has finally arrived with no days above freezing for the foreseeable future.

Gun hunt reports for my area are pathetic and that’s being generous. Right now, I may upgrade my archery tag to a ML tag and go walk the woods after Thanksgiving.

Had planned on hunting yesterday and tomorrow but tested positive for Influenza A. I'm down for the count..... so are my kids.. hopefully be better for money or Tuesday. Hoping to take advantage of the weather change around here and the rut being in full swing fpr another week or two. Rifle season comes in on the 21st in WV, so I'll be hitting hard to fill my last buck tags. Then it's on to flintlock in PA for filling my doe tags!

Went to a great pinch point spot yesterday and today that I have neglected all season. It’s a funnel that is also on the edge of doe bedding with a river down the ravine behind me. They pretty much have to pass me at 25 or less. The problem is that the only suitable tree that’s not a leaner is in the wide open. I got busted by a decent shooter buck. Another problem is from all 3 directions they can come from, I can’t see them till they are at 30-35. It was doable last year with the crossbow because I can hide completely behind the tree but with the compound I just can’t draw. There aren’t and bushes or trees bigger than 8” for them to walk past while I draw. There is a huge tree with 4 trunks and a Hemlock behind it that I need to figure out how to get in. All 4 trunks lean away from each other. Ugh.

I think I have the answer on how to hunt this spot! At or close to ground level might be the way to go. I’ll be back there tonight and see what I can come up with.

Plan now is to skip hunting my land the rest of the season. Neighbors in the area aren't seeing squat so it's pointless to keep going there.

There's public land about 30 minutes from me and ML season opens in 2 weeks. I wanted to stick with my bow this season but the new, unscouted area and limited days to hunt leaves with with taking longer pokes.
