This seems to be the safest method of climbing a tree, in that this is what Arborists that climb every day use and they have safety standards that they have to comply with. This has to also be about the lightest most versatile method as well.

No….

That has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

I just ordered 4 of the Gen 3 One Sticks! Was gonna use my LWCG Doubles for saddle hunting, but I will be saving over 4lbs by going with the One Sticks. I'm thinking a 2 or 3 step aider on the bottom stick should get me close to 20'.

3 step GC aider on my bottom step and my platform is right at 18ft using 4 sticks. I could probably get 20ft if I stretched it. I’m 6ft tall.

Excellent info! Thank you! I'm also 6'.

Do you hang your platform even with the top of your last stick?

Using a 3 step ladder aider on the bottom and the backwoods one aider for the remaining steps gets me to 24 feet with 4 sticks. 25 if I really stretch. It will probably be closer to 22 when all my hunting clothes are on

Most of the time I do, so I can use the top step to help circle around the tree.

I like to stretch mine out. Without aiders I am putting the next stick bottom step mid to upper thigh. Single step aider I don’t think I gain much cuz I don’t feel as comfortable with the long stretch. About a 22-23” aider is my max but I can space the sticks a good 30-34” without aiders.

I have only had my 6 jen3 sticks for 2 weeks so far I really like them! It definitely would be hard to go back to 2lbs sticks. Just ordered gray stealth strips and new 7/64 amsteel ropes.

Yeah that grey color is really nice looking, thanks to enkriss I did mine the same.

Did you remove the brown wrap before you stelth stripped the tubes?

i wouldn't remove that wrap unless there was a reason, like the brown wrap is loose on the post

clean with 90% alcohol and stealth strips don't care....it'll stick on that brown wrap like crazy

I got a set for Christmas from my wife and kids. End up ordering the 4th stick! They worked fantastic and saved me 4lbs vs the Skeletors. Would definitely recommend! The weight savings is worth it! Use a 2 step aider on first step and reach 16-18ft ever time. Rappel down for safety! It’s a no brainer!! IMO.

I purchased 6 sticks thinking I wouldn't use aiders at all(getting old and have arthritis in my knees) - I have been very happy with them so far. After using them in the late season, I am now re-thinking the possibility of using a 3 step permanent aider for the bottom stick so I can comfortably get to 15+ft with 4 sticks. It would be nice if the aider wouldn't get in the way when stacking and could be strapped to the bottom step. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I was worried when I bought mine, but Tethrd did seem to stand behind the gen 2's and refunds seemed to be easy to obtain so I took the plunge. I am very, very happy with mine. So much so, I don't want to carry any of my other sticks or climbing methods.

The last deal I saw was a $299 special for in person show sales only. Short of that, I think the last online sale was around $330 or so.

Use the 3 step Ultimaider. Keep in your pack/pocket(wherever). Place on your bottom step with loops, remove when done. Might wear a little but they have pieces to put on to prevent. Sure you could also come up with something. Good luck! That’s what I use in 2- step version, works great!
I have same issues with mobility(arthritis & getting older)
