I have not bought these, but I would like to know the root cause just like everyone else. Here is a few items that I thought of:A better explanation than what we received in the email is owed to us than just "stress test".
I wonder if the potential wobble is a consideration for these sticks in the classifieds. Less likely to buy used?
How about manufacturing in the freaking USA…. Lots of other companies do. And if there’s a manufacturing problem it’s a much easier fix dealing with someone local.
I’ll NEVER buy a Tetherd product again. I have a set of Skelators that I pray are safe. Too many other companies out there that are putting out great, trouble free products.

For the longest time I thought capitalism worked and it did, however, we have now delved into a society of predatory capitalism. Higher profits to be made sending the work over seas to the Virus ppl that dont require health benefits. If it was made here, the people pouring the cast would whine about only getting $15ph minimum wage and those Turdthrd product prices would be marked up even more than they already are.

Woah....u must not never had anything cast before. It's a little more than 15 bucks an hr. Our stainless casting is outsourced to California because there is only a handful in our country who tooled up to do the workFor the longest time I thought capitalism worked and it did, however, we have now delved into a society of predatory capitalism. I sent an email at 10:30 EST this morning. No response.
Received a bad batch, yes China is known for substandard metal. Ask any welder, they can tell the difference between US steel and China.I have not bought these, but I would like to know the root cause just like everyone else. Here is a few items that I thought of:
- The manufacturer in china may have received a bad batch of raw material(aluminum) that was not up to spec like what was used on the gen1 sticks.
-I would be interested to know if there is any measurable(with a caliper) difference in the thickness of the material between the gen1 & gen2 versions where the failure happened. Or was the design changed in any way around the post between gen1 and gen2 that may have led to less material in the high stress locations.
-maybe the "press fit" caps are exerting some stress on the metal around those weak points, and that is enough to cause the failure when the step/standoff is under a load.

China has a reputation for substituting inferior material in an effort to make production. If you are a plant manager in China and you do not make production if you are lucky you go to a reeducation camp. If you are unlucky you go to a slave labor camp.
Here are two examples where China substituted material in an effort to make production.
China drywall did millions of $ damage to American homes and made people sick
The second killed thousands of dogs.
