Guys - can you twist the strap to take up some slack and get the distance to the loop dialed in?

Too much monkeying around. The buckle is looking better.

I think you’re giving up too soon, but to each their own.

I’m not giving it up yet but I’m not going to take it on another hunt until I can work out the bugs and that won’t be until seasons end.

That might possibly be the best idea I’ve heard all day! I don’t see why it wouldn’t work

I was putting my strap on this week and on the first wrap the loop was too loose so I went around the tree again and bingo... lot better fit. It seemed to be as rock solid as any attempt so far. Just thought I would share.

I use a similar daisy chain system on my Predator and found that if I was between loops where it sagged too much I could just go around the post once and it seemed to line up on another loop well. It may be worth a try with the Versa Strap.

Bit pricey dude

There’s 26 precisely placed stitches running down the length of a 6 footer (newest version) with several passes in each one. It may just look like a silly piece of webbing to the untrained eye, but trust me it’s much more.

And now, thanks to several members here it’s uses keep growing which in turn increase the value it has to the end user.

That’s an idea. Thanks.

Another awesome idea!

No to question number 1. Yes to question number 2.
A new lone wolf strap is $10+shipping from Lone wolf. Weight savings is an obvious benefit, but I'm not sure it's worth the price. They look awesome and I'm not saying I won't try them, but that's a hefty price for webbing.

I'm not trying to stir something up with you so don't take this the wrong way. But the straps are great, worth the money, a lot of guys have bought them. Are cam buckle straps cheaper, yep. But they are heavier and operating them is not as smooth as the versa lites. Only you can decide if the extra money is worth it.

And this next comment is not directed at you alone, cause I see stuff like it here and other forums. But did your comment about YOUR opinion of the price contribute to this thread in a positive way. I have typed comments and ended up not posting cause I ask myself sometimes if I am really being helpful. I even question this post I am typing but decided to post it. No harm meant.

I think your comment is a perfect example of how forum discussions should go. I don't think every post necessarily needs to be positive, per se. A good discussion, in my opinion, is one where people can state their opinions without causing an argument. I respect your response and don't take it personally. I have read this entire thread and some good posts have already been made in response to some of the more negative comments. Keeps people thinking and gets ideas out in the open.

Their worth every penny. I think once you try one you'll say "I get it". Better than sliced bread.

Yep. I have one that is is never used on a stick or the predator. That one strap holds my sticks together while going in and out, then becomes my single move able aider, and then once at hunting height it becomes my gear hanger. That one strap replaced two other pieces I usually pack. Who doesn't like packing in less stuff?!?!

If you look at similarly priced daisy chain webbing, it is usually more expensive and shorter. I couldn't find anything over 54 inches.. There good deal of time involved in lining up and sewing the webbing. Is there a profit being made?? Absolutely...I don't think it should be made for cost.

Having said that...I have only used WE steps for platform and climbing. I don't need the Versa strap for that use but the aider and gear hangers have intrigued me.

I'm also thinking of trying a platform this year but finances are tight since my wife was part of a RIF.

Here's the way I see it on the cost...
Does anyone else make anything like it...NOPE
Carl has material cost+time+shipping
It's not mass produced

If you don't want it, a regular old buckle strap works just fine, but if you want to shave a little weight with something that is extremely well made from a dude that made it specifically for the gear we use then I believe it's worth the $$$.

I can see why guys say it’s pricey when you’re going to drop another $100 on your stick set up just to replace straps or ropes that already work, although maybe not quite as well. Some of us have less than $100 in our sticks to begin with. It’s just a matter of what we want to do to our setups and what it’s worth to us. I don’t think those thinking it’s pricy are trying to be disrespectful. This whole being an outdoorsman is pricy.
Speaking of that, I’m ready to drop some coin on some K2 climbing spurs.
