What’s the Hottest?

Honest question, not being a smart a$$. Why would I buy a JX3 instead of a hang on? The JX3 is 11.5 lbs, JX3 sticks are over 9.5 lbs for the set. That puts me at 21lbs+. If I buy lighter sticks I may get it to 19. I can do a Hawk Helium setup for way less $ and be more comfortable.

I won’t hunt longer than 4 hrs at a time. I’m just not sure the JX3 is conducive to my style of run and gun hunting. I do like the heck out of the concept, and I may try it out. But, 20lbs on my back is not why I started using a saddle. If that were the case I’d still be using a summit sentry.

A new JX3 is not 11.5 lbs. It's actually heavier than that. But it's going to be more comfortable than your Hawk Helium setup for both carrying and hunting, especially if paired with decent sticks or another lightweight climbing method.

Though, if you're only hunting 4hrs at a time, it's probably superfluous unless you have a bad back or knees.

I can't say enough good things about the Overwatch Transformer. It's a masterful display of attention to detail. I thought about buying a second saddle from another manufacturer just to have, but when I compared the stitching and detail work it was no contest. You won't find a crooked stitch, or fray, or misaligned thread/webbing nowhere on the transformer.

*edited to say you can't go wrong with a lot of the saddles out there today. We the consumers are the lucky ones because these guys put their time and effort into truly building great products. I would not hesitate to buy a Buzzard Roost, Wood, TX-5, CGM, Legend, Latitude, HangN30 etc. I just personally stay away from Chinese made.

I sat in the CGM yesterday at the expo, I was very impressed! Really liked the belt they use versus a cobra buckle style. Very comfortable, lightweight and very well made. One of the best saddles I’ve sat in this year. I actually just ordered one… Went back in to get one yesterday and all they had was rope belt models. I don’t know why more companies don’t use the belt like they use.

I started with a Hawk setup and it sure worked great for me! And I’ve sat Dawn to dusk on a few occasions. No complaints!

Look y'all, a survivor. j/k

That's the good thing about lots of options, folks can find what works best for them.

True about their saddle gear. Those broken platforms are scary.

But in this context, I don't think he's talking about their saddle/platform (but may have used those too). I believe he's referencing this combo of Hawk sticks and their rip-off of the Millenium M7:

That’s exactly what I was talking about.
