What did you do today that’s related to saddle hunting?

She was weirded out by the idea of "dead animals" being in the house lol. It was something looking back on that I did an absolute crap job of pre-marriage ironing out. Originally ticked me off but honestly now I kind of like it. I probably see them more in the garage than I would in my bow room in the house. The most recent one was actually inside for a little bit while the kids checked it out so we're taking baby steps. Just need my boy to eventually kill one he wants mounted and encourage him to ask for it to be in his room :tearsofjoy:
Yeah, work into it slowly. When your son gets a wall mounter that will be a turning point for sure. Me being me, I would point out the dead animals in the refrigerator, lol.

Buddy don't think I haven't lol not to mention all the deer/pork I grind and stuff into numerous different meals
My wife still claims that she didn’t sign up for this because I wasn’t a “deer Hunter” the first year we were dating. I told her yes but I lived in a RV down by the river for two years doing nothing but working, hunting, shooting and fishing so you knew what you were getting into. The battle continues for where the deer mounts that don’t have yet will end up lol

2 things:

first I decided I did not like the way I had to switch from my ropeman to my figure 8 the other day so I decided to use some leftover rope to make a separate tether to hunt off of rather than my rappel line.

second job for the day was to do some broadhead tuning. That’s one BH and one FP stacked in there at 20.

next few shooting sessions will be at 30and beyond.

Continuing my paring down and fine tuning process. I'll be strictly 2TC this season for lightweight and mobile hunting due to problems I had with my SRT presets last season. The presets worked great and the climbs were quick and effortless but the the area has mostly ash and younger growth so I had to do presets in trees that would let me vs. trees I wanted to be in. Net result was I spent alot of time simply watching deer just out of range.

2TC will hopefully solve this and allow me to climb the best trees for the spot. As a bonus, ash is a fantastic tree to climb 2TC. For my rappel line, I cut 10' off for a finished length of 35'. The extra 10' added unnecessary bulk and it'll be repurposed as a spare tether.

Installed a Hamskea Trinity Hybrid Hunter Pro on my bow. Looked for a used mathews atlas all day to swap this hams over to it and retire my current bow finally

Had my cam swapped from 30 to 28.5. happy medium there, it's definitely more comfortable for me than the 30 or the 27 I'm " supposed" to be at. Almost bought a new bow but didn't. My wallet thanks me lol

Yesterday did 120 flights of stairs up and down with a 70# pack. Legs feed the wolf. Today bought a new to me pack setup that was exactly what I had been watching for. Was planning to wait until after the season unless I ran across a good deal. Now I need to sell the 2 packs I have.

Which pack did you buy? I wish I had steps around me to do this. Thanks

I just
Oh I’m jelly. Which other two packs do u have?

how the kifaru handle the 70lbs?
Bought that pack this morning online so dont have it yet. Pack training was with my Seek Outside pack. It handles 70 with now problem at all. Most I have had in it was 125ish and it handled the weight fine. I handled it just fine until I started uphill and the steps got a little shorter and a bit slower LOL. Both packs I have function perfectly fine I just wanted a pack to handle both western hunting and whitetail hunting. And I wanted a whitetail pack that would handle the weight of a deer better than the kuiu for pack outs over a mile. It's not a problem now but I am not getting any younger either. The kifaru should fill both roles without issue.

Picked up a ‘22-23 hunting regs magazine at Walmart. I’ve been adding dates to my calendars and always look forward to reading it. I Can’t believe small game starts in less than 2 weeks! Archery deer will run from Sept 10-Jan 31! I don’t mind skipping opening week(s) when it’s 95+ outside. Besides, we are blessed to have such a long and generous season here in Ga.
