What did you do today?

5 different pieces of public so far. I don’t own any cell cameras. Right now some are between suspected or known bedding areas, scrapes and areas I’m curious about!
How many cams per property about 2 it appears.

How many cams per property about 2 it appears.

1-3 cameras depending on the area at the moment. Some spots are larger than others, and depending on what I find when I check them, I may alter things. I don’t plan on checking them more than once until hunting season. During season, I’ll check them while hunting if I’m nearby.

Got my compound out for the first time this year. Been focusing on traditional bows since last season ended. First shot was off because I forgot my anchor point for my release. Next 3 were fine. This was at 30 yards. Things like this discourage me from heading down the trad route to be honest. But then I realizes I'm at where I need to be for compound so why not take on new challenges.

A lot of the trad guys said it is hard to get good at trad bows if I'm always falling back to my compound as a clutch. But I'm not at a point in my life where I can slings 50 arrows a day, so maybe when all the kids are in their teens, then I may retire my compound bows. Until then, it is good to know that I'll always have a dependable deer poker no matter how long between the practices gap are.

I broke the 1 mile mark this morning with my pre dawn run. I've been at it 4 days now and was hoping to break the 1 mile mark before the weekend. I'm ahead of schedule.

I got out and did some more bow practice with the compound and longbow. Things are on track for the October 1 opener. I need to get in some more 2TC climbing.

I got out and did some glassing with a new pair of binoculars that were delivered yesterday. I bought a pair of Meopta 8x25 after watching a video by John Eberhart about what he carries in his hunting pack. He gave the little binos great reviews in his video and I emailed him about them a little over a month ago to ask about them. He was very helpful and indicated that Meopta has discontinued that model, at least here, Stateside. I found a set in Germany and ordered them. I have to say I am really impressed with the optical clarity and usefulness of these small binoculars. I had them out yesterday evening glassing down the road out to 800 yards and I was impressed. These will be in my pack this fall for sure.

I got my Garmin 93sv UHD with gt54 transducer from West Marine online today.
Garmin had them on sale and thry pretty much sold out at stores and online including Cabelas, Fleet Farm and Bass Pro.
I got lucky. I think West Marine may still have a few but it wont be long to sell out.

Will it connect to a Motor Guide Xi3, Xi5, MK autopilot and support gps, depth, contour line functions?

Its compatible with several.
Xi5 included.
I have spot lock and the remte control and am happy as a lark.
Some day maybe I will do the hook up but I'm just not missing it for now.
I'm sure it will be a V8 moment when I do!

Nice, now you are cookin with gas buddy. This spot lock/anchor mode is a whole new game. You can set your kayak or boat to not enter say waters under 10ft and stay on a contour line on the graph and fish off the shelf, cruise control for perfect trolling and heading lock makes it even easier to keep pushin to new location while tying up a lure or take a leak of the back/side. You got user saved locations on there? I recommend if you have a favorite put in spot, you save the route from the boat trailer to the dock of your choice. From there on, you back boat into water and off trailer and can just hit 1 or 2 or whatever you selected. The boat will back out and dock up and wait for the captain to finish parking. Tight Lines

Today was opening day in Missouri. Did an evening sit. Saw 11 deer. All young, with 2 decent does and a small buck. It was an awesome sit for being in the high 80’s. Could of shot several of them but I think my dog was even bigger!! Lol! Still awesome to be in the woods! All on public ground!

Shot a 30 target 3D course with a buddy dailing my bow in before season.
