Where Do Platforms Go From Here?

I've got a bunch of carbon and its one of 3 projects I'm juggling to finish before fall....the main idea for such a thing though, belongs to another member.

You just reharden it in an oven....
Depending on size, thickness and quantity it may or may not be possible or feasible from a cost standpoint. Lots of the stuff I deal with it is not so we just deal with/analyze to the t0 temper that results. It could definitely be more feasible with smaller parts. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . When are you releasing your platform?

Well, I'll have 2 prototypes sent to my partner by next week...then if all goes well, I hope we'll have factory prototypes to test this fall....and next ATA would be awesome and incredibly optimistic...
But there's always a chance of delays so....all I can say is that a new platform(design and prototype done)and a different kind of one-stick and a climbing hybrid platform are being created during every moment of free time I can get. I just don't know how to get more of that with a SN kid and a 10 yr old daughter, and a wife who apparently needs some of my time as well ;)

Short answer: not as soon as I'd like.

How bout a 3-D printed platform? Not sure if that material is tough enough or how lite it is. Im just waiting for a flooded platform market so the dang things go down in price. Until then Ill continue to use the 3 Hawk Helium platforms I got on sale thru Midway USA for $26 each at closeout couple yrs back.

I'm shocked by the lack of climbing saddle platforms. I would love one for rifle season when tree selection isn't so critical.

It really is unbelievable. Probably because the bigs don't want to cut into sales of their expensive climbing sticks.

Though @goody94 had said he and a partner had patented one and were working with a saddle company. I don't know where that stands.

I'll join in for conversation sake...
I would imagine one reason for the lacking platform could be cracking the code and accomplishing secure side load on a saddle climber.
With that said, why hasn't someone strapped their existing platform to their boots and gone up like that?

The hunting community is a tough crowd. Who ever does bring a saddle climber to the market better pull up the socks and not pull a Tethrd.

I've done the platform straped to your boots 2TC style climb and honestly it's quite noisy when you thud against the tree each move. I prefer pure rope or 2TC climbing with special boot studs.
But a saddle climber like a regular tree stand climber(just slightly smaller and of a different design allowing one to face away from the tree is possible and in the works.
I am curious what you mean by your last statement...as in I don't understand it and what did Tethrd 'pull'?

On a positive note, I'll have a full afternoon to myself today finally! Gonna go play with some CF. Theres no better time to be in one's basement than in unbearable 80° Summer weather.

That'll be cool to see!

I'm not in the mood to be baited up but best of luck with your design.

Well if has a bigger range of tree size than the barren ridge I may buy one. I'll pull the trigger on a barren ridge if I find a used one. The range of tree size (even though may not matter with a rifle) keeps me from paying full price

ROS is to "minimalist" for me and a predator is too much. 2 or 3 small surface area like mini pursuit platforms would be sweet.

I'm biased and really enjoy my soft platform. It's a little bulky but it's real light so it's not bad to carry. Somebody please copy it. I don't wanna have to build another 1. I'll supply my own stuffing...I just need the sack sewn

The Predator and two squirrel steps is almost too much compared to my EWO one stick, but that soft platform you use is pretty Dern neat! It’s been awhile since I got to watch you use it, but I thought it was a great idea! You can’t get the Stalker to sew you up another?
