Why don't yall 2TC?

Yes he posted a bunch of pictures. Search his name it's in "Lightest climbing methods" I believe.
But honestly it's all the basic stuff. He uses his rappel line as a tether.

What is his name?

If there is something I can help with about the setup I'll try. Everyone does something different and it always evolving. I'm moving to Canyon Elite with a Safeguard and adding a CT Quick Roll ascender when I can SRT.

In your video it appeared your main tether never had a lot of slack in it, which is really awsome!

Your moves looked effortless as you went up.

9mm canyon?

11mm WorkPro, 8,092 MBS. Regular arborist entry line. Keep the top tether no higher than your head and don't get more than your hip to knee distance away from the tree.

Appreciate the video and info. Question: Why the VT and autoblock? Why not just a single hitch above ATC? I’ve never tried the VT, so not very familiar with it.

VT and Michoacan work. This past season I used the Michoacan and like it better. The Autoblock is a safety. To date I've had no trouble with a saddle, ropes or hardware. If one of those did fail the safety keeps me in the tree and it's very easy to tie even with one hand. Additionally, if you are using a ATC it will keep the rope to the right.

What is your plan for backing up the safeguard ? Thanks

When I get one I'll have to experiment. I think it will be a Michoacan above and Autoblock on the right lineman's loop. I'm thinking my left hand can pull down on the hitch and handle at the same time while my right puts pressure on the Autoblock. We'll see.

Any tips for making it easier to move the main tether up the tree! ?

My hands and wrist get cut up when 2TC climbing

My next idea is to try putting a friction hitch on both sides

For us poors, Mechanix gloves are too rich. The gloves I was wearing in the videos are cheap, no-names found at fleet farm. For me at least, dexterity is key so find the smallest glove you can cram your hand into. That way, there's no extra material to get in the way. If you've got a tannery or leather shop (check small towns), some will trade a free set of leather gloves for a deer hide.
