LWCG stand setups

I have the new LWCG shoulder straps and had both previous generations and both generations of the TX5 if that makes my statement more clear.
In post 1543 in the vid he talks about a new LWCG pack system. ???

I heard they are a ways off but hoping to have it out by fall.

I'm curious what size is seat post you guys would recommend for a 6 4 guy on a .5. I've never been a platform guy but I'm considering trying the hybrid system. I wouldn't be planning on sitting on the seat much if any. I saw one or a couple of you just made a thicker seat?

If you are 6-4 you won’t want to sit on the .5….lol. The 18” post will make it so you can use the seat cushion as a kneepad. The tall post is too high for that…. And the 20” post doesn’t work on the .5

Thanks. Should I be considering the .75? I want to just use it as a large platform. I've tried a few saddle platforms and have always ended up back on my ros but I've been tempted with a hybrid setup for a while. I'm worried if I go with the .75 it's going to feel like to much trouble and weight and it will just end up staying in the truck.

If are going to use it as a treestand at all I would say .75. I am also 6-4 the .5 with the 18” post you feel like a frog sitting in it with your feet tucked under you. It’s just not feasible. But if you just want to use it as a saddle platform I think the .75 is to much.

I'm 6'3". Personally, I like the .5 as a hybrid setup. I wear size 13 Mucks, 14's in mountain boots. I've sat in the seat occasionally and it's not the height that's a big problem for me. It's just that it's a hard surface which gets uncomfortable quickly.

I'm curious if you guys that are running a hybrid system still hang your bow on the tree or if you are using some sort of holder attached to the stand?

Currently hanging bow in tree. This year I might add the Sidekick Extended version and have the option for both if needed. Or if I like the side kick enough I’d drop the hanging my bow.

So many .5’s in the classifieds rn. People don’t know what’s good for them haha jkjk played with mine some this morning. Started from ground level packed up, did a climb. Just getting some reps in

Finished mine up yesterday. Wife got me a 4th stick for my birthday. The 14 double lock into the stand well and the aider pouch Carrie’s the straps. Little bit of shrink wrap and paracord and there I have it

I bought the .5 and the .75 at the sale end of last season. I don’t know which way I’ll go yet. I’m thinking it may be the .75. One of them will probably hit the classifieds before all is said and done.

I'm 6'1 with a 12.5-13 boot and have a .75 with the tall post and mesh seat. I haven't used it with a saddle but for a lock on set up, comfort, size of platform, and everything else about it, its as close to perfect as I've ever found. I do run a .5 with my saddle. I took the seat pad off and have found that with the seat in the up position my knee/kneepad fits perfectly between the seat and tree. Foot on the edge of the platform and knee wedged against the post/seat makes for a comfortable spot to take angle shots. I'm not a fan of sitting on the .5 seat or any seat when in a saddle. Too much excessive movement for one but I find hanging in my saddle with my feet on the platform more comfortable. The .5 allows me to take a offside shot standing if I need to as well and that's another reason I leave the seat up.

Ive had an order in for a .75 with a mesh seat since March. Realized I could go to a 1.0 with a large seat for like 2oz less. I emailed support today asking to change my order. I hope Im not missing out ditching the mesh seat if they allow me. I will be wearing a TX Minimalist for repelling so I figured I have plenty of options to sit different if I get uncomfortable and talked myself out of needing the mesh seat.

I’ve got a .75, 4 x 20” doubles (2 w aiders), a TX5 Suspension System, and the TX5 EOP Pack ordered.

Very excited to get this in and set up.
I’m also thinking I may ditch the sticks and try spurs this year.

I’ve sure this has been discussed but I’m looking for someone who’s using the tx5 suspension this year? I’m looking to try it. I’m used the full system from Kuiu last year and it’s awesome. Just a touch heavier than I’d like and a little bulky. Thanks.

So haven’t used this little idea in the field but if you can notice the two clips on the front of the pack. One is my aider and the other is my bow rope. It’s a way to save from digging in your pack, dripping something while grabbing something out of your pack. I think I’m gonna like it. Then the only other thing in that pocket is a strap.
