New Gear for 2023, Go!

I bought a single xop x2 climbing stick from rda outdoors to make into a one stick. While they are loud out of the box what stick isn't? I stealth stripped it and it took care of most of the noise. The standoffs have lots of room and bite the tree well. I'm impressed with the stick for the price but my expectations must've been lower than yours

Glad you like them.

Just the one. I could see how multiples would be noisey. I don't think you could stealth strip them and use the side stacking deal. I did see a video of someone filling the xo2s with foam and that silenced them a bit

Yeah I don’t think it would work with Stealth Strips either. They just seemed quite a bit noisier than my Novix sticks. Difference in materials I suppose.

Do you think it is because the x2 tubes are 7075 aluminum and many others are 6061? I held them today and they did seem a littly more tingly, didn’t know if that would be a reason.

I would assume so. This guy Stealth Stripped them but left a spot for the clips to go.

Can’t use the stock stacking clips, but they’ll work if you upgrade to Double Claws.

How big is it?

***Edit 1900cuin
If that outter pocket is removable and can be run around the tree, which he states in a video,
, then I would want to find a bow hanger and hooks that fit on that strap like the Genesis 3D hooks and bow hanger. That way you can unzip that pocket, run it around the tree at whatever level you prefer, and you can hang your bow and whatever else from it and have that pouch to access whatever at the same time. I want to see some photos of it with sticks stowed vertically. The website only shows horizontal storage which doesn’t work for everyone due to stick variations.

I plan on taking 2 gear hangers this year anyway. Sometimes it seemed like it would be so much better to put my pack or whatever on a different tree or height on the tree. If the little pack had essentials and the bigger pack had layers or possible it might be nice to separate them.

Anyone know anything about Tx5 coming out with a “minimalist” hunting tether and lineman’s? Saw it on a Saddlhuntr YouTube channel on YouTube and I swore he said it was tx5.
