Couple things… if the wind switches directions the weather will be different. This is Florida, if you don’t like the weather, give it 10 minutes lmao….. you know good and well, they can’t predict the weather here unless it’s less than 48 hours. In the weather description, it says mostly cloudy with 50% chance of rain. I went down there once this year with 70% chance of rain and never saw a drop all day. Conversely went down there once during general gun on a quota, zero percent chance of rain and no rain on the radar but it rained on us for 3 hours straight. I like that the high is mid 60’s and lows are mid 50’s. That’ll be comfortable camping/hunting weather. And it’ll have the pigs up and moving around earlier in the day. Regardless, February is rarely ever thunderstorm weather so it’s more likely a light drizzle some that afternoon if it rains at all.
I would gladly be the first up for the wet feather flight demo:sweatsmile:

Sounds good to me. . .I will be there ready to go! Is the game plan still to be there at 10:30am on Saturday? I'm thinking about maybe going Friday after work and getting in a little scouting time be I've never been on this area before. Looking forward to this !!!

The misses gave me the ultimatum..... either fla or Georgia but not both....
So I be at lake George for the weekend. I possibly drive down Friday after work and get set up. See all u crazies down there....

Hey guys. I have been a Tree Saddle Hunter for about a year and am based in Titusville Florida. I went to the Georgia meetup last year (and met Wildabeast and a few others). Unfortunately, this is the first time I have checked this saddlehunter.com since the start of hunting season (so I am not up to speed yet). It looks like you have a Florida meetup this weekend somewhere in Lake George WMA. I am very interested in attending at least for a day and will probably camp for the whole weekend and hunt if there is one. I'll see if I get one of my friends (also a saddle hunter) to also attend. Since I am trying to come up to speed late, is there any summary of the what, when, where? Who is coordinating this, and is there any reservation o payment I need to do now?

Come on down the more the merrier… the only “fee” is you’ll need a Fl hunting license or a WMA permit (they come with the Florida sportsman license). As long as you have that the rest is free. Everyone is bringing their gear with the goal of letting other look at or maybe sit in it to get a feel for what they may want in the future, platform options, climbing methods ect. Since it’s not being commercialized, the event is free, camping is free, hunting and hanging out is free lol we are providing lunch on Saturday but your dinner and other food is BYOS….

Great. I intend to come, camp, and hunt. So at a minimum it will be me in my tent.

I have also invited five other people: my wife (who I want to get into hunting), a friend who is an experienced saddle hunter and a member of this saddlehunter.com forum, and 3 newer hunters (my 26 year old son and two of his buddies) who I want to get into hunting. Since my invitation to them was very short notice, they probably won't join me/us, but I am hoping they will since hunting and saddle hunting would be good for them. So, at a maximum it might be 6 of us and a few tents.

Good news, the weather has already changed. The new forecast is little chance of rain Saturday, light rain over night and sporadic rain Sunday. Saturday high is 56 and the low is 51. Looks like we are fortunate and potentially set up for good hunting conditions

I'm hoping to hear more about the Wood Tree Saddle(s) from those who attend. Seems more pliable and compressible than others, but not much word on the street so to speak.

I have a very comfortable saddle, but it's somewhat bulky.
